This is it, the full version of M.I.A.'s new single "Bad Girls", produced by Danja. (An early version of the track originally appeared on her Vicki Leekx mixtape.) "Bad Girls" will officially be available around the globe tomorrow, January 31, and a video for the track from "Born Free" director Romain Gavras is due this Friday, February 3.

M.I.A. is currently working on her fourth full-length LP, which is set for release this summer. She's also heavily rumored to appear during this Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show alongside Madonna to perform their collaborative new single "Give Me All Your Luvin'".

Jay-Z's management company Roc Nation has welcomed M.I.A. to its team. "The nation just keeps growing," Roc Nation Tweeted with an Instagrammed photo of her artist page. "Welcome home MIA", Rihanna chimed in (Rih's also part of Roc Nation, along with Santigold, Wale, Shakira, Jay Electronica, and more). A representative from M.I.A.'s label, Interscope, confirmed the deal.

It's hard to tell exactly what this means for Maya Arulpragasam, who's a label entrepreneur in her own right. The Roc Nation deal is reportedly only for management-- not publishing or distribution-- and she's still technically a part of Interscope Records. Still, M.I.A.'s own N.E.E.T. Recordings, the imprint she runs under the Interscope umbrella, doesn't seem so active these days. The label's once-vibrant website has vanished, and Sleigh Bells, once N.E.E.T.'s high-profile artist, released their last album through Mom & Pop, without N.E.E.T. Rye Rye's new album Go! Pop! Bang! did come out under the N.E.E.T. umbrella, however.

M.I.A. is currently at work on a new album tentatively titled Matangi.

MIA has described her forthcoming new album as sounding like Paul Simon 'on acid'.

The singer made the comment on Twitter, after telling fans she would answer 10 questions about the follow-up to 2010's 'Maya'. She also explained that the record would be released in December, alongside a book, documentary and art exhibition.

When asked how many tracks would feature on the new album, she said: "its still in the making -could be 5 it could be 15 depends on what sounds good in my bros CAR." She added that there would be no collaborations on the record and of the LP's unknown producers she said it will be worked on with "ones that dont act like fame ***** coloniser."

She went on to Tweet one of her favourite lyrics on the record:

Back in November, Spin reported that Matangi, M.I.A.'s fourth studio album, had been delayed from its planned December release. In a new interview with Australian website Gold Coast, Arulpragasam explains the reason for the delay: too many positive vibes, according to her record label, Interscope.

"It's due in April, which is the Tamil new year-- April 15-- and I'm still working on it. I thought I'd finished it. I finished it and then I handed the record in, like a couple of months ago. At the moment, I've been told it's too positive. So we're having a bit of an issue at the label. They're like, 'You need to darken it up a bit.' I don't know what it is but as soon as I work that out... I'm taking my time to decide what they mean. It's an interesting one for me. It's like, 'We just built you up as the public enemy no. 1, and now you're coming out with all this positive stuff."

So why indulge them, asks Gold Coast.

"Well, that's the point of being positive."

Lest anyone forget, back in August she tweeted to her fans, "no one in the industry collected blows in the last 3 years as much as me, this [record] is a **** you to them and a thank you to you." How she squares that "**** you" with the label's request for darker material is anyone's guess...

One year ago, M.I.A. delivered unto the world her excellent single "Bad Girls", recorded back in 2007 and produced by Danja (the Timbaland protégé known for his work with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears). Now, as Rap-Up points out, Danja has shared another M.I.A. track recorded at the same time, titled "Doobie". He calls it "somewhat of a weird, uptempo, high energy" cut with drums pushed through an arpeggiator.

Check out "Doobie" in the clip below, which finds Danja introducing the song while driving in L.A.; the track comes in at 2:34.

This morning, the Kenzo fashion show in Paris featured an original piece of music by M.I.A.. It's called the MATANGI mix-- the same name as her upcoming album-- and it's streaming above via MatangiMixtape.com.

Matangi is tentatively scheduled for April 15, but nothing has been cemented yet. It might feature work from Hit-Boy.

Following this morning's threat of a leak, M.I.A.'s long-delayed new album Matangi has a new release date. The follow-up to 2010's /\/\/\Y/\ is due November 5 via Interscope.

News about Matangi has been trickling out for over a year. She's shared a handful of new songs: the single "Bring the Noize", "Only 1 U", "Come Walk With Me", "Doobie", "atTENTtion", and an eight-minute mix called MATANGI for a Paris fashion show. Last year, she described the album's music as "paul simon on acid", though later, she said that the album was delayed for being "too positive".

It gets its name from M.I.A.'s real first name, Mathangi. Here's what she said about the album title:

"When I went to India, I was looking on Google for stuff that was the color of a certain green, and that's when this green goddess, Matangi, popped up. I was like, that's weird, the whole time I've been alive on this planet, my mom never mentioned where my name came from. Matangi was the goddess of knowledge and the arts--music, art, dancing, spoken word. When they invented this mythology 4,000 years ago, the concept of someone being about all those things was normal."
