Wouldn't surprise me, it does seem the US is gearing up for potential conflict in the region; they now have 15000 troops on Iran's doorstep in Kuwait, they've sent hi-tech military gear to the UAE, reinforced the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, dispatched 3 aircraft carriers, nuke subs and a helicopter carrier for immediate Persian Gulf duty, and then there's also numerous drones, missiles, warships, fighters, bombers.. The US defense secretary also said just yesterday that there was a "strong possibility" of an Israeli attack on Iran by June. Russia and China would both be strongly against any such an attack anyway, but the US/Israel would have the backing of the UK at least, and maybe other European countries, it has the potential to be a big war..

Do think Iran will be attacked sometime this year?

Yeah its quite possible in the foreseeable future, it depends on the co-operation Iran gives the Nuclear inspection team when they revisit the country in the very near future.

The International Atomic Energy Agency who carry out the inspections say Irans secrecy and uncooperative attitude to recent visits can lead them to hold to other conclusion that Iran is developing nuclear weapons.

The political posturing by the Iranian leadership doesnt help the situation.

Bearing in mind Iran is currently under four sets of UN Security Council sanctions on it developing a nuclear weapons program its only a question of time before Uncle Sam will want to take this troops to vacation on the sunny sands in and around Tehran, if only to keep us all safe.

According to an American report they're unlikely to even be able to build a nuclear weapon, not this year anyway, because of the sanctions and because they can't produce enough weapons-grade uranium apparently.

To be honest, I can see why Iran would want the bomb, if that is what they're doing, considering most of their major neighbours in the region have it anyway, and considering the hostility shown towards them by the major powers (not all of it unjustified of course). And Mossad have no right to carry out assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists as they appear to have been doing.

They may be unable to build one at the moment, thats true, in the eyes of some administrations though it is better to nip the problem in the bud. Invading a country that has nukes can turn out to be more costly than invading one who is trying to develop them.

On the subject of international sanctions they do have the means to enrich uranium, apparently they have thousands of centrifuges dispersed around the country. Funnily enough despite international sanctions to prevent enrichment production equipment (that includes enrichment centrifuges) getting into the country. So obviously the sanctions are working.
