All Gay people seem to have similar taste in music???

AS a gay man, i've noticed most other gay men have similartaste in music to me...

Why do you think this is?

Is music taste genetic too?? lol

I wouldn't say so, as a gay person I feel I've got a very varied music taste and I know of a couple of gay friends who are exactly the same.

I've been told that because I'm gay I should only like Madonna, Beyonce, Kylie, Britney etc and I'm like :bored:

There are no correlations between sexual orientation and music tastes. It's another one of those ludicrous, ignorant stereotypes.

Every persons music taste differs. Certain social groups may find similar music appealing, but it is not a conclusive rule for everyone - your age, gender, sexual orientation etc do not dictate what types of music you're going to like, and the whole assumption by some that this is the case is quite frankly just laughable.

Trying looking at your social circle as opposed to trying to pigeonhole everyone.

By the way how is this a political question.

not really a political question, more of a stereotypical "observation"

...that was the joke.

But yea, it's not just my "social circles" cause i don't even have a gay social circle in real life, it's gay people from all over the internet i noticed, not just one forum or group.

There are some artists over others that have HUGE gay fan bases, i don't know why you're acting like i'm just making it up out of the blue.. lol. Obviously some artists have huge gay fan bases. That's not homophobic to say.

It's some cases lyrics and how to relate to them if anything

But yeah, I know gay people that absolutely can't stand the music which is often generalised with the gay population

Gay isn't genetic so the music taste based on your sexuality cannot be either. It is all about exposure to things.

I've thought about this too and I find it quite unsettling in a way.

But at the same time, I think that I like music a stereotypical gay guy wouldn't.. ? Idk. Most of the music I listen to is very camp tho. D;

From my post:

Certain social groups may find similar music appealing

...in this case, black people.

but it is not a conclusive rule for everyone

There's a difference, please read my post properly before quoting.
