Easily the most underated player to have ever played the game. Destroyed Vieria on a regular basis aswell as making him **** himself in the tunnell at highbury, Abused a PRIME Zidane who many consider to be the greatest ever CM and if given the chance would have destroyed Xavi and Iniesta
Was the MAIN reason for United's sucess during the 90's and early 2000's and like Georgie Best a big shame he didn't have the chance to play for a better country so he could shine on the international scale
Also holds the honour of greatest single player performance i have ever seen in the champs league semi final vs Juve

He was a very good player but I think Steven Gerrard is the best CM to have graced the game imo, sorry Legend Killer as I know you won't like that opinion.

Iniesta for me
Class above. I'm a big Roy Keane fan but Xavi and Iniesta would run rings around anyone

Prime Zidane couldn't so i don't see either Iniesta or Xavi doing better
Keane
Xavi Iniesta

Might do some TiBB polls ''Best striker'' etc and a Best xi. Don't think we've got enough football fans to get a comprehensive list though, and people would be blinkered by who they support

I hate describing anybody as the best ever. There are too many factors involved. The position, the role they play, the club they're at and the surrounding players, the play style of the team and the league, how the player is mentally, etc etc.

Yeah, that's why the Messi/Maradonna/Pele thing pisses me off
Pele - played in Brazil most of his life
Messi - unbelievably brilliant but plays with an amazing team?
Maradonna - various controversies - I have never really researched him and watching his videos much

On what i've seen of Maradonna, his just a cheating bastard that robbed England out of the World Cup.

Nathan you should defo do those polls should make for good debate
Messi is extremely overrated. Don't get me wrong he is the 2nd best player in the world behind Ronnie but the comparisons with the all time greats is LOL worthy. He does **** ALL for Argentina when he doesn't have 2 of the best cm's ever setting everyting up for him. And other than the goal that Van Der Sar should have saved last year generally does **** all vs English teams either
He is your typical Spanish League bully boy

Also Geroge Best is better than both Mara and Pele when both drunk and Sober

If Zidane counts as a CM, no one in the world can come close to him.

Fat Ronaldo and Ronaldinho are defo in the top 10 players ever when they were in there prime

The thing about Ronaldo is, he does 439843348943 tricks before his end product, Messi just effortlessly goes past people without the need to show off, that's what I like about him

The Ronaldo at United the year he scored the 40 odd PL goals was the best player i have ever seen in my lifetime
Lothar Matthaus is the best I've seen.

Pogba?

Pogba?
:laugh2:I think the other 3 choices are good calls though. I think Zidane and Xavi in particular have great claims for this title.

From the 80s era I liked Platini, Michael Laudrup and Maradona.
90s - early 2000s: Zidane.
Later 2000s - 2010s: You can't argue against Messi and Ronaldo.
