Chance that GTA V might be released Xmas 2012?

Grand Theft Auto V may currently be floating around in the "TBC" netherworld of release dates, but a new report from Take-Two has hinted at a Christmas 2012 release date for the open-world crime sim.

Take-Two, parent company of GTA publisher Rockstar Games, has reported a drop in profits for its fiscal Q3 ending December 31st. Despite this, they've bullishly tipped fiscal 2013 to be one of the most lucrative in the company's history, suggesting a late 2012 release for the next GTA game with the Christmas period being the most profitable point for boxed games.

"Fiscal 2013 is expected to be one of our best years ever, with substantial revenue growth and non-GAAP net income in excess of $2 per diluted share. We are well positioned to continue to deliver growth and profitability over the long-term," said Take-Two chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick.

Though GTA V will lead Take-Two's profit charge, there are plenty of other promising titles heading out this year under their umbrella.Max Payne 3, Spec Ops: The Line, XCOM: Enemy Unknown and BioShock Infinite are all due later this year while there's also Borderlands 2 and the XCOM FPS game out in Take-Two's fiscal 2013 too.

May-Summer doesn't make sense.

Unless they rush another 3 trailers for the game in 3-5 months and all the teasers in between that.

3 Months before GTA IV release date we knew who the character was and had 4 trailers lol

It will be annoying having to wait longer but it will be longer in the main run that the game is not rushed and that they have learnt from some of the criticism GTA IV got...

Grand Theft Auto V will be released in October for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, according to the CV of a member of the development team.

Character animator Alex O'Dwyer listed an October 2012 release for the game in his online CV and LinkedIn page, reports Joystiq.

Rockstar North is yet to comment on the rumour, and the information has since been taken offline.

An October launch would coincide with the release of publisher Take-Two's BioShock Infinite, and mark the one-year anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V's surprise announcement.

Despite rumours suggesting a summer release, Rockstar North has remained tight-lipped, promising more details in the coming weeks and months.

The game takes place in the city of Los Santos and its surrounding hills, countryside and beaches. Its lead character is thought to be a man named Albert De Silva, played by Ned Luke.

There is no ******ing chance, in hell that the game will be released this year.
They always release 4 Trailers prior to the game's release - and then they delay it and just churn out Information and News for months and then it's released, that's how GTA goes - considering we'll probably not see Trailer 2 until June, there's no way we'll get it by October or December.

I'd guess at April/May next year. Can't see it being released this year, we've had no information at all since the trailer and that came out ages ago now.

We still don't know who the protagonist is either. A trailer will come out a week or so after Max Payne's released and then information will start flooding in, I reckon.
