According to the guy who wrote the walesonline article about the Cardiff auditions, the producers told him Channel 5 are thinking about comissioning another CBB to air with BB in the summer, also vote to save is staying but nominations discussion will only be allowed at certain times:

Just seen your thread on DS about this, was waiting for the one to made over here :p
Not sure whether I like the idea to be honest...it has one main positive point, and one main negative. The positive being that a celebrity series almost 'props up' the main one, viewing figures may somewhat turn out better than they would if the main series were on its own. Don't forget, this'll be the first time on C5 that the main series has gone ahead four months after the last celebrity one. It's new territory for them...God only knows how badly it could perform.
On the other hand...another celebrity series is overkill (but then I would never complain about more series, so it's a tough one). But, that wouldn't be the main reason. It's that they'd cut the main series shorter again...probably keep it at nine weeks (which was far too short last year) in order to accommodate CBB. And I don't want it shorter...I'm still hoping, however unlikely it may be, for a return to the regular thirteen week runs.
Not sure where I stand on this one.

They will probably air BB13 in May and CBB10 after the olympics finish in August.

Cancel CBB as it's **** and it's caused the rot in BB's ratings as a whole.
Also bring back LF.

Thing is, they said they wanted to have the same schedule as Channel 4, BB in the summer, CBB in the winter and Jeff Ford said he didn't want it to feel like overload so if it's true then they're probably not renewing the main show. Unless this is just to make up for the fact that they can't do a three month series this year because of the Olympics.

I don't mind it if they air one before the Olympics and one after them, but if they air them back to back and BB's on first, BB will probably get the same ratings as last year and be axed.

I'd be perfectly happy with that.
Ideally, BB from Wednesday 2nd May - Friday 27th July, then the Olympics, with CBB starting Friday 17th August for three weeks.

The opening ceremony is on the 27th, so it will probably start on the 11th or the 17th and end on the 20th.

But that'd be the same length, or a tiny bit longer than last year...which was way too short.
Don't get me wrong...this is probably what'll happen, but I want a longer series, not shorter, or the same length as last year :(

I know they have enjoyed p*ssing about with these experiments like music, name tags, new editing, telling Marcus to be more theatrical, twitbot and taking away live feed etc. and they deserve respect for vote to save and facebook voting, this much.:worship:, but BB in summer and CBB in January is one tradition I want BB to keep.

They won't have the final on the same day as the opening ceremony. BB probably be 10 weeks and CBB will probably be 3 weeks.

errm, cbb caused the rise in ratings.
And i think BOTS is the show that lowers the rating cause its so cheap

Overkill, also, that will completely balls up the annual system Brian's been using.

Very good point. Brian would freeze mid sentence and stare into the camera like a deer in headlights before they cut to the HL show.

Ideally i can't see this working if it goes ahead. This is a tough year for Big Brother ratings wise. Because of the Olympics it's all messed up.
BB is usually the show that airs between the end of Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor. I can't see a 93 day BB Series happening again anytime soon, if not until next year (If C5 keep it). So i can't see a CBB airing in the summer.

Good. I prefer 10 weeks.

They wouldn't tell the producers they were thinking about it unless they were seriously considering it.

One word: overkill.

The downside of CBB9 being so good is that it makes it even easier for them to cancel the main series.
Might even be better if CBB10 is a bit of a dud if BB13 is a great series.
