Piracy is not about stealing from the consumer though, it is about the producer/suppliers so that argument is irrelevant.

Doesn't make sense. Because copies of things are like a shelf full of the same thing in a supermarket. Taking one without paying for it is the same, whilst copies are still there.
Or copying someone else's work in an exam. You've not took their original paper but you've still stolen their answers.

(Although I do commit piracy, shame on me).
