A few people I know who have been said good things about it, but am interested to see if anyone from here has and their thoughts?:)

Yes my gran used to have a villa in the algarve there so we'd go every year. Haven't been for a few years but it was lovely; the weather ,the food, the beaches, the people and there was a town called portimao which had loads of little cobbled streets, funky markets and gorgeous little restaurants

A less trashy Spain, I guess.
Ive only been to the Algarve, nothing to unique about it, but a nice holiday.

It's lovely. I've been there like 18 times and it get's boring eventually but it's proper lush.
It's like Spain but smaller.

Portugal is amazing. I studied there for six months on a university exchange. I was in Porto. Very underrated country, with some great places including Geres.

I was there with my parents as a child, it was really nice. Not a place I will rush to visit in the future but what I recall of it is all good.

Cool and Porto does look nice from pictures i've seen too, my mate has a Portugese family (Lisbon) and they go there most years.
Yeah I go there quite a lot to the Algarve where my Uncle lives and we've got a place over there, it's amazing, especially in the East of the region which hasn't been as affected by tourism yet (although it's getting there) and it feels less commercialised, cheaper too, can still get a beer and lunch for only a couple of euros
