This story in the news today brings shame to Scotland. I'm appalled by the actions of these thugs, as are most other Scots.

I can argue the Scotland/England thing as much as the next guy (as is obvious by my banner etc.), but in a light-hearted way.

These people make me sick.

I, for one, certainly don't! It sad that it just takes an isolated number of rebels to spoil an amicable relationship that was just based on a bit of humerous banter!

Unfortunately Corkie, there will always be idiots who let the side down. :nono:

As for me, I'm happy to have a wee wind-up on here with my flags & stuff. I'm not anti-English in the slightest. It's just a bit of a laugh, isn't it.

I don't even notice the English / Scottish rivalry - probably because I live closer to France than Scotland lol
But yeah, this shouldn't happen :nono:

I found this story absolutely shocking! My husbands family are Scottish and like Stropz, like to joke about the Scottish/English rivalry. But, being English, I have never experienced anything but love and kindness from them and also the people in their village in Ayrshire.

It is such a shame that this small minority of losers reflect badly on a whole nation

Sadly, this is a huge part of life these days.

If England play Holland in the QF, it's not gonna be good, although i'm bigger than everyone else:tongue:

You get the scum where-ever you go.

I have a few friends up in Edinburgh and there alright, have banter and generally say anything bad about the english they can! But that's all it is, banter!

It's a shame the minority will tarnish the reputation of the majority.

In future, Stropz... leave people in england tops alone. Bully.

It's a shame that they reflect badly on the whole nation. To be fair it's just like the press etc. saying things like "The England supporters cant behave abroad". It's not fair to generalise. Sure, some of the England supporters misbehave.. but to tar everyone with the same brush is not acceptable. :nono:

Another thing... I played a Scottish man at Fifa on xbox live and i asked him about all these england fans being attacked for wearing the shirt and he said it's crazy but you get them sort or 'no go' areas for english people in scotland.

Is that true? :puzzled:

Yes, it is true. For example, the only place English kids can go to school without fear of being beaten up would be the school I go to. And there's the Northfield area up here, it's really rough anyways, and most English people avoid it completely.

That really is sickening, but having lived in Scotland for 3 years when I was little, I know how lovely the people are so of course reading stories like that certainly won't change it. Any behaviour like that from a person from any country however is unacceptable! It's so sad to read stories like this.

Theirs people in my town who wear England tops here and when i was on the train and heard people saying 'Their brave doing that' then laughing.

Im not supporting England during the World Cup, and its not that i dont like English cause i have english cousins etc. Just because im not supporting them, doesnt mean i want anyone to get hurt. Knowone deserves any of that crap.
