Looked him up, he is still performing though, stars like Shirley Bassey,Cliff Richard and Petula Clark etc; are still going and performing,also still recording too.

Listened to some of his songs online this morning and although they were rather twee, he performed them well, I have a feeling a big Eurovision surprise as to the UK's fortunes could be on the cards here.

I think it's a bloody wonderful idea. Music isn't the property of teenagers, and most people under 20 that I know don't pay any mind to Eurovision anyway. We've had bloody awful marks with younger, more contemporary songs so why not give old Englebert a go? Look at Shirley Bassey and Tony Bennett's impact on Glastonbury!

I'm looking forward to my friend's annual Big Gay Eurovision Soiree which gets more epic and more drunken every year.

I agree with you Livia and I and my student friends really enjoy Eurovision and usually make it an event too.
I also just realised as to your post, I am now not one of those under 20s now.
