This is completely serious guys.

For about 3 weeks now I have had a sore lump in my right nipple which has not gone away and it seems to be growing. It is like under the skin and painful like a bruise when touched. I don't know what to do. My mum said it is probably just hormones but I think I have cancer. D:

Does anyone have any experience with this and could advise me?

No experience but you should go to the doctor if it's really worrying you, that's what I would do.

Definitely best to go doctor but if it went away more likely to be hormonal. But don't take out word.

I have such a lump too by the armpit, doc said it's PROBABLY hormonal, I take his word for now but then again a lot of GPs/doctors diagnose things wrong, Jade goody is a good example, so after you've seen the gp, even if he says it's hormonal, make sure you keep going back to have it checked, even if you have to see another gp do it.

I've been in the EXACT same position for about 11 Months now - right nipple aswell, I thought it was Cancer and told my Mum and they all laughed it off.

I keep meaning to go to the Doctor's - but I dunno if it's nothing or not.

I think the majority of cancerous lumps in that area don't cause any pain.

Get it checked anyway... its probably a customer or a swollen gland. :)

Go to your GP, I'm sure they will reassure you..I don't think it's uncommon in young men, I believe it can be down to a hormone change

I'm sure it is nothing Patrick but you should always have body changes checket out by a GP

If the lump moves under the skin when you touch it then its probably an infected hair follicle or a cyst, best to get it checked out anyway though.

No disrespect to anybody who has replied, but you shouldn't rely on an Internet forum to diagnose a medical problem. You know what you have to do and thats make an appointment with your GP and get it sorted.

you have given it a number of weeks to go and it has not - go and see your GP and tell them this.

If I thought I had cancer anywhere in my body, I wouldnt be asking about it on an internet forum, I would make an appointment at the doctors then maybe later chat about it on the net, or at least get eductaed on what it could potentially be.

Incidentally if you are up for daft advice etc, which you are or so it seems, my mate Paul had some similar growth, he didnt bother with it either preferring to show the lads at work, down the pub etc. eventually someone suggested taking his growth to the docs who took one look at put him in hospital.

The following day the consultant doing rounds took a quick look at the growth murmoured something about thanking god it had been caught in time and prescribed some manly type hormones.

Turns out it was some sort of female hormone producing gland gone into overdrive. Paul was a bit releived to hear things had been caught in time and they knew what it was. He had been a bit worried about his growing taste for campari and sodas and pink gin fizzes.

He got up to go to the toilet only to find his cock and balls in the bed when he turned to straighten the bed covers. He looked between his legs and found a fully formed vagina, which even he/she admits he loves playing with.

Not sure why you started a thread, if you're worried even slightly; go to the doctors and don't start a thread about it. Just seems a bit extreme.

If in doubt, always get checked. It could be a small benign cyst, and will either go away by itself or with a course of antibiotics. I've had one in my armpit a couple of times, you are more prone to them if you are a bit run down, have a cold etc. Never take any risks with your health, even if you feel silly.
