Remploy
times are hard,
everyone is being labelled,
how low can we go,
a great idea, lets target the disabled.
54 factory's are running,
the less well off people have opportunity,
36 are now going to be-closed,
smaller are the working disabled community.
a minister for the disabled,
did bring to my eye a tear,
she said they were not financially viable,
so how ever far we have come, reverse is the gear.
Labours views are irrelevant,
the 10p tax saga makes them hypocritical,
what ever they are trying to achieve,
it certainly will not gain anything political.
66 years Remploy has been going,
anything from packaging, manufacturing, furniture it all booms,
they are even in CCTC,
and operate in control rooms.
so where is the saving going,
part of £320 million, tell me i am interested,
i don't believe your words,
when you say "for disabled people" it will be reinvested.
it all boils down to the evil root,
£68.3 million last year was the loss,
forget the benefit to disabled people,
that's what makes me so cross.
MS Sayce spoke to the beeb,
i am ready to defend as i have POV reliability,
but if i no anything about "work and pensions",
i have been proven right as its all about profitability.
from the government's words,
the money will stop beginning the year start financially,
a Remploy place cost £25k,
while the £3k "access to work" is saving substantially.
shadow minister Anne McGuire is mad,
the whole story is not to enjoy,
the last word goes to me,
Joe says shame on this country, the government and shame on Remploy.
Hi everyone - i was surfing the net as you do and i came across this story - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17288762 -it was also on the news channel. it really made me think and i have so much compassion as i hope you can see from my poem. everything is hard at times and being disabled must be the most horrible thing when story's like this happen as it is so much more personal. my heart goes out to anyone effected and i will do my best to highlight this by putting my poem on internet forums and i have already sent this to the polictical partys - news channels - and to Remploy. i hope we get a saviour. just wondered other peoples views ?
Jesus.

MY honest view, is that if you are serious about this cause and wish to contact political parties, then the medium of bad poetry is not the way forward.
I have to be honest, you've really grown on me, you crazy poet, you. But this isn't the right way to participate in political conversation.

He really has no idea how OBNOXIOUS his "poetry" is, does he?
It's not art, it's spam.

How rude, it is how joe chooses to express his views ...He does not profess to be poet laureate. I have been reading the article and it is really saddening i hope they stick to their promise of using the 8m to get all those affected into secure employment befor any closures are made.
Well done joe for highlighting this issue, and for doing something that shows you have a view on this matter. :)

Why would you bother to come on to a thread which you KNOW contains what you consider to be "obnoxious" poetry, just to post a mean and unnecessary comment? Comment on the topic by all means but not on the way the OP has of expressing himself.
At least Joe has an opinion and makes some valid points.

if some one can find streath in jesus then fair play.

In the main certainly for about 90% of Joe's poems, I really enjoy reading the lines he writes, they are often mixed well with seriousness and humour but usually make very strong and valid points.
As to Remploy, it is an obscenity in my view that the Govt is allowing them to go to the wall.

Me too joey, i hate that some are closed minded and ridicule those who dont 'go with the flow'. Eccentricity is an amirable quality today.:)

That's the thing I really like most about Joe and his poems kizzy, often they are unconventionally done but have the impact none-the -less.
He is unique on the forum and long may he continue.

I agree, those like joe are so often shouted down, but whats the alternative...Wave your hands about in protest...Wring them in sorrow...Or just sit on them?
