What pet names do you have for people, as in what do you call them to show affection. Or do you not bother with any of that?

Also, are you a tactile person, do you hug people, touch their arms etc when talking, are you openly demonstrative or reserved, British stiff upper lip and all that?

On here I like the vast majority of members, and you can tell instantly how much I like you, as I'll call you hun, hunni or something similar, and use emoticons like  to express it.

Poll coming.

Aw, that's lovely Kazanne

I voted hun on the poll but I call my son sweetheart as well, and we have a very tactile affectionate relationships, loads of hugs. My parents weren't touchy feely, and my main boyfriend type relationships weren't either, I made bad choices in that department sadly. Ironically though you'd expect the effect to make me reserved too, it actually went the opposite way, and I'm a very tactile, demonstrative person. I wear my heart on my sleeve.

I don't have any. I'm not an overly affectionate person if truth be told.

That surprises me Ben. :)

But judging from last years tibb BB, you did seem to throw things at us and push us all in the pool etc a lot, so maybe that's how you show your adoration. It would explain why you torment Marc as well, you lurve him....

No...no offence Kate, but I cringe if someone calls me hun...I don't use any terms of endearment and think maybe I have a phobia of them. I do hug people..sometimes a lot...but I have to be the one to hug..I don't like others coming into my space and hugging me first...maybe I'm selfish

Lol. I'm not a completely cold hearted prick. I'm a hugger, I love my hugs and cuddles. I'm just not one for spoken adoration or sentimental mush. Don't get me wrong, a few people will see that side to me, but the majority of the world won't know me long enough to witness it.

That sounds more like the impression I have for you.

I don't go ott and gushy as then it becomes meaningless, I don't go in for mushy cards and all that, that's sickening, But I do get easily attached to anyone who shows me a crumb of affection. I'm far too sensitive and emotional. I'm a proper sad cow. Lol.

Feels like Lassie, staring at everyone with big puppy eyes :laugh2:

I don't really have any terms of affection for people I know. I'd cringe at myself if I did use them tho.

I use terms of endearment to Gav and the kids but no one else.

I voted other but now cannot think of any I do use, other than 'my friend' sometimes,my 2 main ways of addressing people are their names and near always ending with 'speak soon'.

Maybe when I have a friend who is feeling down I will say something like 'come on my friend what can I do to help cheer you up' but usually I just always use people's name or what they prefer to be called.

:joker::joker::joker:

I use a term of endearment for my partner and him for me but I don't like anyone else calling me the type of stuff listed in the poll and being called dear is the worst of the lot.

My exboyfriend used to call me bubs but I didn't like it much, don't really like sentimental names for partners.

I call my friends names like stinkpants, sugartits, poohole & peanuthead (there are more but they are too offensive). For certain friends /family I have individual nicknames; Melons, Gaylord, Loobyloo, Fififoo, Big Rob, The Muff, Ollom (two people Called Olly & Tom) etc .
I am not a hugger either. As you can see I am a terribly mature person
