Anyone watch this? Just started watching it and it's really good, I'm not even sure what series Channel 5 are on though or how much I've missed

I've watched every episode from the start of the show. It's actually a pretty tired format now. The killing of (who he thought was RJ) was the last episode of series 3. You're watching s$ now, Niamh.
The first series is definitely the best, and RJ is only a vague theme these days, but it was the major theme in series one.
I'm hooked now, and I've bought into the RJ vs PJ battle but I've lost interest completely this series. The episodes are repetitive, and it's just the same old camp and kitsch episodes repeated these days. I can't give up because I have to see how it all ends, but this series is a huge disappointment.

Well it's all new to me I suppose, pity I never watched from the start though :( The fact that Patrick Jane is a sexy bastard doesn't hurt matters either

I have to pretty much agree with your post. It's usually the way of a series though, they tend to lose the way a few series in. I liked Monk and then it got over tired and silly rather than funny. I used to like Criminal minds and although it's just a series with the usual flaws we expect, it got too silly, the episode of copying the people under the stairs was the final straw for me with that show. Same goes for Supernatural and so on .... I like Psych at the moment but can see that going the same way, and reckon I will tire of that show also soon. I am liking the silly sci fi stuff like Eureka because it is so far fetched that I take it lightly as it's meant, and for a laugh as with Star Trek.

that is what happens when you have to fill 20 or more episodes a season

You have to give it atleast 4/5 episodes in before you get hooked, it's so good!

Just been catching up with this recently, its just been renewed for a seventh season which looks like it could be a bit shorter and possibly the last
I agree though, especially in season 5 some of the episodes have been really disappointing, some repetitive and uninteresting storylines and stringing the RJ hunt out too long. On season 6 right now and I've just watched:
The episode where Jane gets the final 5 RJ suspects to meet at his old family house. It was really tense and the darker side of Jane is really coming out now, about 2 episodes before RJ is revealed I believe :amazed:
Heard the show reinvents itself afterwards too so looking forward to seeing what happens with it.

The reboot has really breathed new life into the show. Love the new characters Abbott, Fischer and Wylie and the relocation to the FBI. The storylines have really improved since last season too and it just works. Hopefully the ratings pick up again, its almost like a new show :amazed:

I miss this show. Patrick was a really great character and Simon Baker was the perfect actor for the part.
