Do you enjoy it or not?

I love it, went for the first time in ages yesterday and really enjoyed it as I am a strong swimmer, should really start doing it again more often:).

I can swim... but I prefer bobbing around on a floaty chair with a cocktail. If ever that becomes an Olympic sport I think I'll probably take the gold.

I go twice a week, I do 1800m (36 laps of 50m length) each time in an hour. Gonna try getting there half hour earlier again to get 50 (2500m) in :D

..yes I quite like it..I like to get in 'do my lengths' and get out though..I don't like busy pools...where you have to keep stopping to swim around people

I love it but hate it at the same time.

On a tropical island recreationally I love it.
In the school swim team, having to swim over 100 lengths until you feel like you are going to pass out, hate it.

Scott! I know I've only seen your face but you certainly don't look fat to me! There's loads of people with less than perfect bodies at public pools; if they don't bother , why should you?

because they might not be self conscious but i am :hmph:

i think even i had a perfect body and was stick thin i would still feel really conscious about showing it its not just the fact that im fat that puts me off its just being like semi naked around people idk im odd

Nah, you're not odd... I find the long walk from the (communal) changing rooms to the actual pool so unnerving! Once you're in the water though, its fine! :D

Hahaha.. yeah me too, and I make eye contact with nobody! If there's anybody there that I know, I certainly don't want to acknowledge them with my thighs on show!

Not been swimming since the last time I was in Turkey in 2006. Not really bothered about it though, still have nightmares from primary school swimming lessons. Freezing cold, an odd greeny swamp colour and the instructor casually throwing people in the deep end :bored:

Nope I don't swim, I'm not fond of water. Well baths yes, but not vast amounts of the stuff.

I'm pretty crap at it, just doggy paddle around everywhere, only really go on holiday in the sea though, the pools require too much actual swimming
