Yes. Its happening as we speak. He seemed to just collapse on the pitch. No one was near him when it happened. You could also see his body convulsing on the ground. Very sad.

Sh*t it's crazy, I was just half-listening to the game on radio and heard the commentator say something about someone "fighting for his life", thought they were just talking metaphorically at first until I realised he was actually collapsed and they were trying to revive him :(

It's like Foe again :(

I don't think it's a question of did physios do enough/see signs of this in the past, there are such occurences as heart problems completely out of the blue without any warning signs, like a couple of incidents in the past

michael21
17-03-2012, 06:47 PM
i think there should have a medical centre as all grounds so the player can get treated faster

Benjamin

Andrea Pirlo dedicated Juve's 5-0 win tonight to Muamba, good to see all the support he's been getting and how respectful the Tottenham fans were, considering how often football fans get criticised.

Also reminds me of Antonio Puerta the Sevilla player who died on the pitch a few years ago, they've been talking about all evening on 606 and apparently 12 people a week collapse playing football from cardiac arrests, and it would only cost something like £35 per player to get all this stuff completely checked out, the FA should check it out

Was most likely just a sudden heart problem that can happen to anyone, I researched it at the time Dani Jarque died/De La Red had to retire and there are really no signs at all it's going to happen no matter how many checks you get

Yeah there was also someone on the radio saying that for all the checks you can do you can have heart problems that will never be identified, I still think it's worth doing more tests on players though, I think they do in Seria A

Fabrice Muamba is talking and even laughing as he shows further signs of recovery from a cardiac arrest, Tottenham Hotspur player Emmanuel Adebayor has suggested.

The Bolton Wanderers midfielder has been fighting for his life at the London Chest Hospital since he collapsed during his team's FA Cup clash with Spurs on Saturday.

The 23-year-old's heart did not start beating on its own for nearly two hours after he fell on the pitch.

Spurs striker Adebayor told Sky News the player was showing a major improvement in his condition after visiting him in hospital.

"He is much better, he recognises people and can talk (and) that's the most important thing for me," he said.

"We just have to keep praying for him. He is a strong guy and I think he's been through a lot during these two days but he's back to normal and he's trying to talk normal and he's acting normal, which is very important."

Asked if Congo-born Muamba was laughing, Adebayor said: "All African people always have a smile on their face, so we are always laughing. It's part of our life."

This is quite sad in a way. It shows how much he cares about football and his team, when I very much doubt he will be able to play again. Even if he wants to(which I would think he does) it will be impossible to insure him now I would imagine :/
