7 sides seems unnatural. I don't like heptagons.

I think we need new coins full stop, not just for the Olympics.

they'd look nicer without that trainwreck of a logo.

Anything that commemorates the Olympics will be worth money one day. It's been 64 years since the last time it was in London, and I doubt we'll ever be awarded it again.

How do you go about getting all 29 of them?

Banks would have them.

I had one of those Olympic £5 coins the other day. It was the size of Pluto.

I'm guessing by chance. A lady I work with collected them and made us all check our takings for the Olympic 50p's, luckily she has them all now so I don't have to check each time.

Its the Thin Coin,

Royal Mint is bringing out a commemorative set of all of them for the dedicated collectors at the bargain price of £1,350.00 for the solid silver one or £89.50 for standard ones.

Here's the link:

I've just ordered the new Jubiliee Crown from them this morning. That's something else that will be worth a bit one day. Only the second Golden Jubilee of a sovereign in all of our history.

Lmfao. Selling £14.50 worth of material for £89.50. Priceless. Well, pricey but priceless.
