You knew it was coming ;)
I have made one change and one change only to the format that I followed for the 90s and 00s editions: instead of asking you to come up with 80 songs with suggestions, this time you'll only be suggesting 40. You may then also support (up to) 10 songs that others have suggested. Once a song has 2 supports it will be qualify for the contest. Since there are fewer songs needed to qualify this time around I ask that you consider your votes carefully instead of quickly rushing to support that song you recognise in my list ;)
Oh and for the sake of eradicating stans (Harry....) I ask that you submit no more than three songs by a specific artist. Oh and can someone pin this and unpin the 90s thread please?
That's all. Go. :)

Shaun
26-03-2012, 04:35 PM
okay, there are 3 spaces left and Niamh has voted for four - sorry, but everyone else's votes after her will have to be voided.
The four songs she chose that could go through (the Bangles and T'Pau are already through) are:
The Pretenders - Don't Get Me Wrong (GypsyGoth, Locke)
R.E.M - It's the end of the world as we know it ( and I feel fine) (Bollo, GypsyGoth)
Cyndi Lauper - True Colours (Ammi, GypsyGoth)

Rules:
- This'll largely follow the format of the 90s and 00s editions I've previously ran, but in case you're unfamiliar with the rules, here's the basics.
- For the first 5 rounds I have split the 160 songs into 5 "rounds" of 32 songs.
- In each round the 32 songs are split again into 8 "groups" of 4.
- Your task is to take each group as follows and rank the four songs in order of preference.
- For example, if Group A contained "Lovecats", "I Want Candy", "Touch My Nipples" and "Ooh is that a Benz?" and you loved "Touch My Nipples", liked "Lovecats", didn't mind "I Want Candy" and hated "Ooh is that a Benz?" you'd put:
1) Touch My Nipples
2) Lovecats
3) I Want Candy
4) Ooh is that a Benz?
- Each song is provided as a URL for these first 5 rounds so as to help you familiarise yourself. I ask that you please listen to songs you don't yet know (since you can't judge fairly until you do, and who knows, you might find a new favourite).
- The three songs with the most points per group will qualify for rounds 6-onwards.

Ladies and gentlemen... I give you the death group... that is Group H.
