Wow... I think Tibet should be a free country and I wish the Tibetans all the best in fighting for that right.

Remember reading about how frequently this occurs in Tibet, in one monastery alone there were 9 attempts at it in 2011 with 5 deaths, some riot police there even have to carry fire extinguishers. By doing it India I guess the guy realised he'd be able to get a lot more attention for his protest

Yes i do.... To attempt to take your life in such a way is the last act of someone truly desparate to raise awarenes of their cause. To get world attention by making the ultimate sacrifice , your own life.

over recent years Tibetans, Iranians, and Greeks have demonstrated this to highlight issues.
