The Daily Star is usually right about things when it comes to stuff about Big Brother these days(apart from major celebrities) but I suspect that due to that leaked Launch date, we will be getting yet another Celebrity Big Brother in May, which i'm a bit disapointed about as by 2019 when this supposed contract ends that Channel 5 will sign, we will have more CBB's than BB's that have aired on Channel 5 which is very disapointing :(

what leaked Launch date :conf:

http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198578

it's in this thread it was leaked not too long ago actually, and since here it's advertised as June 7 and all the papers and channel 5 said it's coming back in May, it will obviously be Celebrity Big Brother 10

I won't be watching it. I'll give the BB13 launch/first week a try to see if it can grab me but I'm bored witless of the format TBH.

It was overkill on channel 4 as it was but now it looks like channel 5 will have had 5 series of Big Brother within a 12 month period.

I'm not bored of normal big brother i've had enough of celebrity big brother!

Techniqually if we are going by the info that we've been given since 2011....

CBB8 (2011)
BB12 (2011)
CBB9 (2012)
CBB10 (2012)
BB13 (2012)

5 series in 2 years......

Then going onwards until 2019 when Ch5 will be extending their contract for another 7 years to which involves 2 celebs a year and 1 normal.........
CBB11 (2013)
CBB12 (2013)
BB14 (2013)
CBB13 (2014)
CBB14 (2014)
BB15 (2014)
CBB15 (2015)
CBB16 (2015)
BB16 (2015)
CBB17 (2016)
CBB18 (2016)
BB17 (2016)
CBB19 (2017)
CBB20 (2017)
BB18 (2017)
CBB21 (2018)
CBB22 (2018)
BB19 (2018)
CBB23 (2019)
CBB24 (2019)
BB20 (2019)

That is an absolute disaster by the end of 2019 with 20 normal BB's and 24 Celeb BB's the celeb version was never supposed to be designed to outrun normal BB it's shameful

and I bet Brian wants to say at the end of 2019 "I presented 26 series, Davina only presented 18 Series, I've won" because thats just the sort of person he is..........

I'm so ashamed that our future of BB is Celeb BB!!!

Several doesn't have a number, it just means more than one. For all we know it could be just two, maybe 5 we don't know. And the Daily Star are known for lying.

Stephen ‏ @Ryokanfan
@marcusBBbentley So I guess Celebrity BB will be on straight after the regular BB ? I can't wait.
Marcus Bentley Marcus Bentley ‏ @marcusBBbentley
@Ryokanfan Oh yes! 14 weeks in total!

I hope Marcus is wrong. That would mean going against the Olympics for 2 weeks.

Uh, no. We have BB13 this summer with CBB9 either before or after. Which means by August/September that's 5 series within 12 months. It only came to channel 5 the same time last year.

If we get 2 CBB's and 1 BB in 2013 then it's a whopping 8 series in 2 years.

And I highly doubt Big Brother will make it 4 more years let alone 7.

I honestly think this'll be the beginning of the end of the regular series. Can't see it rating well, they'll probably plug the sh*t out of CBB which'll then inevitably rate better (albeit slightly I'm guessing), and then C5 will use it as an excuse to sign a contract whereby two series of Celebrity Big Brother are broadcast a year, and the regular series is axed.

Of course that happening would only lead to overkill of CBB itself, meaning that'd be axed within two years max. Bad times ahead I feel...

Marsh.

I never wanted channel 5 to bring back any BB for a couple of years anyway, because it needed breathing space. Then they bring it back and are now throwing out series with little actual effort in the production of it.
At this rate I'd actually prefer just a 3-4 week CBB every January. I think the long haul 3- 4 months of the show are dead, there's nothing new to see and it gets boring within 6 weeks.
