It's beginning to be that time of year again ladies and gentlemen!

Now that's April, the new series is only about 2 months away.

The feeling of being *ready* for a new BB is starting to come back to me. BB12 feels like forever ago now. It's nice to start feeling excited for it again! Since before CBB I wasn't really excited because BB12 JUST ended, and before BB12 I wasn't really excited because CBB literally, JUST ended. But now that excitement and anticipation feeling is back! Plus we haven't had a proper summer BB in 2 years which makes things more exciting.

Can't wait for the rumors to start appearing!

Im not looking forward to it tbh,I was hoping to but C5 have drained me with how close all the series have been put together, plus I haven't really liked any of them much since it's moved to C5.

Hopefully BB13 will be the return of a true Big Brother for me.

BB13 could be different because it's the first real summer BB in a long time.

Didn't you like last CBB though? I thought it was the best ever.

I thought it was ok but I think i've seen better from BB than that.

I haven't looked forward to a series since it's been on C5. They don't hype it up like C4 did.

Honestly couldn't give a ****** - there's no new eye to look forward to, TiBB is completely boring and dull now, and the house will probably most likely be identical to the CBB8 and CBB9 houses.

So there is nothing to look forward to at all.

People use to say on Channel 4, 'it's the same sh*t every year'.
Well no, because on Channel 4 at least it was different and fresh every Summer - this is going to be just like CBB9 and the two series before that.

Even i'm not really looking forward to the series as much as i thought. Even my website lacks enthusiasm. Big Brother hasn't been a major event since BB11, and only BB11 was a big thing because it the series was the last one.

If they don't give us anything new i'm gonna get bored.

I thought you liked it more now it's on C5 Paddy :p

Have to say I'm only about 10% excited at this point. It's more the prospect of having BB back in the summer and something to watch that excites me, nothing else.

Who says there's not gonna be a new eye?

The pessimism of this post....I can't...

Well we've had 3 series and the only 'eye' they've actually released is this template

^ Exactly.

And I like it alot better than the last few years on C4 Jack LOL - I just don't like how it's lost it's identity completely and alot of the things that made the fans enjoy it and look forward to it, have been stripped away completely.

Also the fact that Channel 5 seem to forget it's Big Brother, and doesn't need 70 Celebrity Series a year to make it work.

Mystic Mock
01-04-2012, 09:19 PM
They are turning it into TOWIE with all the series being so close together and even the people that go on it now are either ex TOWIE people or TOWIE wannabes.

I want Big Brother back and lots of other people do to,but sadly I don't think it's ever going to happen.

big brother has moved channels but its the same production team,
they took the heart out of bb,a long time ago!
it is so far from where it began and will never get back to its core,
its always been about making money, but now more than ever,

It won't.
Because even if Endemol did listen to us and decided to go back to how it was before BB11 - then all it's 'new audience' who only tune in to see Romance, Amy Childs, Hot Guyz and Jedward appear, would turn of.
And that's the audience Channel 5 want to keep, they don't care about people like us anymore.

Yes it is, actually.

It's because of the scheduling being different. There was not enough time between those new series to start completely anew. CBB and BB always have the same eye for a year. Yes, it's been 3 series but they basically grouped CBB8/BB12 as one.

I'm surprised everyone is so pessimistic about the new series, it seemed like everyone loved CBB9 and now all of the sudden people are thinking negatively.

I guarantee the house, logo, and theme for BB13 will be brand new. If not, I will eat my words.

I have a feeling I'd have been very excited had channel 5 and endemol waited until this summer to kick off the new era of the show. But bringing it back 12 months after it "died" and then cramming us with loads of series has killed any kind of buzz I still had about the show. Uninterested so far.

I used to be so excited for the launch of new series on Channel 4; but now it's on Channel 5, I have no anticipation for it and it has lost all its hype for me.

Jarrod

Yes it is, actually.

There are only some who are the same. Most of the people are new. It's like the press contacts, they're not the same. The Executive Producer isn't the same. However, the executive Producer for this year is apparently someone from Big Brother 2010, so let's hope for a better series.

Denis O’Connor is reportedly back on the Big Brother production team, after leaving in 2010

Denis O’Connor left the Big Brother production team when the show left Channel 4 back in 2010, following the final of Ultimate Big Brother.

Gavin Henderson took over in 2011 when the show started on Channel 5 in August, replacing Phil Edgar Jones, who left production company Endemol in 2010 after handling the Channel 4 version for ten years.

However, according to Broadcast, he has decided to depart after eleven months to move to the BBC’s Natural History Unit, where he will work on Planet Earth Live.

Channel 5 have brought in O’Connor to oversee the next regular series of Big Brother, set to air in May.

Fingers crossed for a better series..

I don't get why there's a lot of negativity on here all of a sudden, most people agreed BB12 and CBB9 were really good series, so we might have only had one eye but stuff like that doesn't bother me that much, I think it's all pretty trivial. Would much prefer a poor build up, bad eye etc. and an amazing actual series than a lot of build up and hype but a sh*t series

I don't get the 'eye' bit at all, I don't think I've even noticed the eye was different since BB1 if I'm honest. The eye has no importance to me at all, it's all about the characters in the house and the live feed. If those things are done right the series will be good imo.

I'm looking forward to it, I love BigBrother, why else would I be on this forum tbqh

I don't need flashy ads and designs to get excited for something I've been familiar with for 10 years.

I'm pumped it coming on again soon. I love the idea of BBUK in general, especially the fact it doesn't come off scripted like the US version. Love seeing how the relationships of the people in the house play out, waiting for the arguments and twists. Watching HGs overreact to things. I really hope they limit the HGs this year. Too much alcohol and food last year. I wanna see them suffer for a couple weeks cause of punishments. Don't spoil them so much.

Going to be quite the summer, this runs May to July-ish? CBB in July? BBUSA starts in July, Olympics start in July. Going to be a busy tv summer for me ;p

It's not that i'm negative, it's just i'm worried that it's going to fail more than anything. I know it's been signed on for another 2 years, but i've got a feeling people will move on and the viewers will go down to at least 800k a night.

I am looking forward to the series, i'm just worried really.

But i think i'm not looking forward to it as much due to the pressure of running my website and keeping it as up to date as i can. I've got this series, followed by Big Brother Australia and Celebrity Big Brother 10.

BB10 was the last great series in terms of hype and overall quality. Underrated :idc:

Hype means nothing to me. At the end of the day its the show itself that matters. I'd rather no hype and have the series be entertaining then lots of hype and the series being bad.

Maybe 3 series a year is inducing BB fatigue, even if the number of weeks is the same. BB becomes something routine instead of something special.

Judging by the comments made by producers and how good CBB9 was, I am very positive
