I honestly do not know exactly. Gay I think because society sees it as wrong and generally you hear hate stories. Girly probably because they feel no girl wants a boyfriend who is girly and they will constantly be seen as a lesser male. :shrug:

It is just a very stereotypical view of things. How can a colour be girly exactly, it is just a reflection of light, the same light that makes all other colours. I have a pair of bright hot pink shorts and I love them, I am not gay (to my knowledge), but they are one of my favourite pairs.

The way in which stereotypes are combatted is by not conforming and really there is no need to conform.

You do know that back in the day (100 years ago or something) pink was a colour associated with boys, and blue associated with girls, right?

When the world was created there wasn't this invisible rule book made whereby there's some unwritten rule that boys can't wear pink or else they're a 'girl'. It's just another petty little stereotype, invented by petty little people. Trends change all the time, in another 100 years, who knows, yellow will probably be associated with boys or something. They're just colours...they don't have genders.
