A Canadian cow has produced the most milk ever.
The animal, named Smurf, resides just east of Canada's capital, Ottawa.
"That's the equivalent of more than one million glasses of milk," boasted Smurf's owner and dairy farmer Eric Patenaude.
On average, a dairy cow produces 35,000kg of milk in a lifetime. Smurf produces the same daily amount, only she has lived three times longer than most dairy cows. Now 15 years old, she has produced a total of 216,891kg.
Patenaude cited that "longevity and consistency" were two key factors in achieving the new world record.
According to AFP, the world record previously belonged to a cow in Michigan, USA.
Smurf turns 16 later this year and is currently expecting her 11th calf.
