Most Loved #6 Countdown

This edition of Most Loved is marked with a lot of sadness for a variety of reasons. In the last six months we, as an online community, have been hit with more than our fair share of bad news. The unexpected passing of Kerry was a deeply upsetting time for us all and I still find myself getting teary eyed whenever I stumble across one of her old posts, knowing that she’s not going to be around anymore to give me advice or chat away with me at 4am on a Tuesday or something equally as ridiculous. A much loved member of the moderating team, Kerry’s contributions to the forum were outstanding and she is sorely missed. The bad news wasn’t limited to just Kerry though, as we also discovered that one time Brotherhood leader andyman had also passed away many months previously, explaining his sudden absence from the forum. Andy was notorious for his food signatures which angered stomachs across the forum, and for his witty sense of humour. Although our discovery of this news was delayed, it still impacted the forum greatly with many old members returning to pay their condolences. The bad news, although thankfully not as serious in nature as the two aforementioned passings, continues as we now turn to say goodbye to ukturtle, Ben, another one of our moderators. Ben is packing up his life and moving to New Zealand to start a new life there – meaning he won’t have much time to be on the forum, if at all, anymore. I know I’m not alone in saying that I think Ben is absolutely one of the best members on this site, and his presence on here will be missed terribly when he leaves. His departure is one of the main reasons why I brought Most Loved forward by a month, as it wouldn’t feel right to host it knowing that one of our most important members has already gone. So here’s to Kerry, for all of her late night entertainment, advice and help, to andyman for inspiring the Brotherhood, his lasting legacy and eating like a king, and to ukturtle for all his contributions to the forum, and here’s to wishing him all the best in his future life in New Zealand!

Kicking off the countdown for the second competition running, it’s CharlieO! His brand of wit and his thought provoking posts in Serious Debates earned him his spot in the countdown. fruit cake, although less active now than she was back when the last countdown took place, remains on the countdown this time around. Originally registering in 2009, she didn’t really become noticeably active on the forum until the tail end of 2011. Here’s what you had to say about fruit cake! She was described by one poster as a “fun bird” and as “a lovable poster” by another. That poster went on to say that she is “as nice as anyone, but also can hold her own in an argument.” One user stated that “everyone loves a bit of Fruity” while another said that “she seems nice. Rebooting his Most Loved career, it’s TiBB’s favourite android: arista! Known for his numerous catchphrases and unique posting style, the mystery behind arista was always intriguing enough to make people wonder who he was and why he posted in the way he did. Although Stacey is often falsely attributed with discovering the secret of the man behind the keyboard, the end of the mystery has not dissuaded arista from posting on the forum. One user reckons that “if I posted more we would certainly be best buddies. I might become a local just for King Arista. A huge drop for Eoin, but by no means is that a bad thing. Personal hardships have impacted Eoin hard since our last countdown and understandably he has spent a lot of time away from the forum. When he is around on the forum though, Eoin brings a lot to the table. His passion for F1, Eminem and harsh moderating make him an interesting character, not to mention the fact he’s met Karl, TiBB’s Favourite Member From Sligo (runners up MrGaryy and Fowley.) One member said of Eoin “I like hearing his rants and is all round a pleasure to post with.” Another member gave him points because “he's a dirty bastard. What's not to like about that.” Eoin “still has epic music taste and a great guy, shame he doesn't post as much anymore” said one user, while another aptly summed him up by saying “I miss Eoin around the forum, I know he's had a tough year but I'm hoping he'll be back with us a bit more, soon.
