Do you guys think Madeline is still alive and do you think she will ever be found?

No I dont think she will ever be found. She will look a lot different now to the laast time people saw her, and if she was kidnapped...they have hid her for this long they can do it forever.
I'm of the opinion that the parents accidentally overdosed her with sleeping pills anyway though, so mainly that is the reason I dont think she will be found.

I think she's still alive. Just hope she is happy and 'safe' with whoever it is who has her now.

All those clues are ones from just after she was kidnapped though, doesn't really prove that she's still alive today. Like Vicky said no one, not even her parents would know how she looks today even if she was still alive. I do hope that she's found one way or the other though, not knowing must be horrible.

I am really unsure of the parents and not sure why, anyone else feel that?i dont want to dislike them but dont think they are very likable.
Vicky.
08-05-2012, 01:12 PM
What I dont understand, is why so many police hours have been given to one missing child...why so many resources have been used, why so much media attention...when thousands of kids go missing every day. What was so special about this one?
That might sound heartless...but its true. Why should everyone be bothered about one child more than all the others?

I don't know if they were involved -I really hope they weren't- but I can't imagine as a mother leaving two 2 year olds and a four year old at home alone while I went out for dinner

I agree with that Vicky, how could one not, also why did Kate refuse to answer some questions?just seem a bit dodgy to me,hope I'm wrong, but we'll probably never know.

My youngest is 8 and he still wakes up the odd time during the night and I know he'd completely freak out if we weren't there

yep, like Kazanne said, I know parents can't be watching their kids 24/7 but this just seems completely neglectful to me.
..I don't know whether the parents had any involvement I don't believe we will ever find out what happened to her..but I would hate to lay something like that at someone's door if it wasn't true....it has to be the worst thing that could ever say about you..that you've somehow hurt your children....
..I don't believe she ever will be found or that we will ever know what happened and as much as I would like to think otherwise..I don't believe she is still alive..but I do believe as a parent that you would never stop hoping or looking

I think it was just because of the fact there was the element of "what are her parents covering?" - they didn't exactly lie low in the media did they! Books and all sorts about themselves!

I don't think she will be found,I naturally really hope she is alive and well though and more to the point cared for and loved by whoever may have her.
The point you raised above Niamh is the one I and near all my friends and family have pondered over a lot, this case really annoys my Mum,none of us can imagine parents,(both of them), leaving such young children alone while they went for dinner/socialising in the UK never mind when you have taken them to another Country.
Certainly to do so while not ensuring some responsible person was with them at least.

No, little things come out like this about every 6 months. It's the McCann's basically keeping the story in the press. They are as clueless as we are to what happened to her.

Exactly, That is what I find unbelievable, I mean these are professional people, leaving children so young alone for hours in a different country. Makes no sense whatsoever.

I think she's alive but I don't think The Police will ever find her sadly.
..I don't think I do believe her parents killed her but as well as the loss of Madeline and not knowing what happened to her..they're also aware of what some people think/say..their life can't be easy at all and their other children will have to also go through life with the knowledge of things that are said about their parents

I have a gut feeling shes alive but that we'll never know what has happened to her. Shed have been drugged senseless and told so many stories that theyll stick with her and shed have forgotten who 'Madeline' is. The only chance is that with age, she remembers and clicks on and tells somebody she can trust. If she confronts the kidnappers then theyll have her killed/drugged again.
I dont believe the parents were involved. Yes they neglected her and are a huge example of bad parenting, but they couldnt keep on this act for so long.
Its good that stories like this make it big to raise awareness.

Can't see her being alive and even if she was, she could of changed so much if someone kidnapped her, she'd even probably be fluent portugese now
