Initial overview seems to suggest nothing controversial and nothing radical
Inevitably, Cameron will emphasise the social aspects of some bills and exaggerate the reorganisation aspects of others

Hopefully now the concentration will be on reducing the deficit, personally I couldn't see anything there to suggest any change of thinking though.
As more information is revealed as to the detail then more will be able to be assessed as to the likely success of the policies, especially to deficit reduction.
There may well be pressure from Europe to change course too if France starts to show some success in any changes they adopt now.
As to Lords reform, well I am against that at this time and especially Nick Clegg's ideas for it, I cannot see Conservative backbenchers allowing this to happen this side of the next election anyway.
A lot of u turns, re-thinks and shelving I feel as to these bills is likely in this session of Parliament.
I am not a fan of his at all but well done to Dennis Skinner, who provided the lighter moment but also with the serious fact too when he said,.
'' Jubilee year and a double dip recession, what a start''.
Classic moment.
Really...nothing controversial?...you dont work in the public sector do you?
There is nothing that wasn't expected and nothing that will precipitate a riot - in fact, it's a nothing set of bills which will fill Parliament's time rejecting, deferring or changing most of them, while the economy goes from bad to worse, although Cameron's Cronies will, inevitably, make more tax-efficient millions while the rest of us make do and mend ..... :idc:

I'm aready hearing some Lib-Dem and a Tory talking up the Banking Reform Bill which :
Will ensure that banks which want to provide retail banking services will only be able to do so if these services are ring-fenced from the investment activities of the bank. Reduces the risk to the taxpayer of a bank going bust by making sure those who have money deposited in bank accounts are given priority over other creditors. This Bill will apply to the whole of the UK.
Reducing the risk to the taxpayer doesn't put money in my pocket but it helps the Government balance the books - the bill, apparently, will do nothing about the vast discrepancy between interest rates charged and interest rates paid ..... :hmph:
Curbing the power of large supermarkets and ensuring suppliers are "treated fairly and lawfully" through a new independent adjudicator
Sounds like a job for "Quangoman" ..... :pipe:
