BIG Brother fans will get the chance to pick a wild card housemate this year.

TV bosses have decided to give viewers a say in who to throw into the house and cause mayhem.

The line-up for the new Channel 5 series has been finalised but some of the crazier wannabes who failed to make the list are being given a second chance. Producers will shortly whittle down the gang to a handful of hopefuls.

Early on in the series, after the contestants have gone into the house, the newbies will be unveiled to the public.

Viewers will then get the chance to pick one of them to join the housemates.

A source said: “For years, fans have said that they want to choose housemates for the show and now they’ve got their chance.

“The wild cards will be characters who will stir things up and set the sparks flying.

“The lucky few will be brought out and do a Vote For Me piece to camera to explain why they should be chosen. Then it’s down to the public.

“This lucky person stands a good chance of possibly winning.

“If viewers have picked them and they live up to expectations then they should be favourites to win.”

The new series of Big Brother starts on Channel 5 early next month.

It will be followed later in the summer by the hit celebrity version of the show.

I'm sure they said something like this last year, around the same time they promised fans they'd be getting the live feed back...

Yes we got Josh.

I think he was decent value. Didn't that whole Brian/Josh/Amma/Stuart fight happen that night at Brian Dowling's birthday party.

One of the best nights of BB to watch on LF.

Yes, Josh was a good housemate. The 2 female options did not inspire confidence:

Anne, an older woman who promised sense and maturity in the house, and a "late night talker".

Natasha, a fiery young girl who promised "naughtiness" and other late-night antics.

The cynic in me says they'll put the one they want to go in there in a line up of dullards. Or they'll just fill the options full of TOWIE wannabes

Josh was the one who promised late-night naughtiness. Natasha promised attitude, a wicked sense of humor, sassiness, and sexiness, and she would have been amazing

J = Jamie
WC = Wild Cards?

Is this what Jamie meant? If so, I'm disappointed, was done in BB2.

This is the same public that voted for boring Frankie & Gareth than Michael/Twins so I don't have much hope it'll be anyone decent.

After the public didn't vote for Twins and Michael in the final, over the likes of Denise, Frankie and Gareth, I doubt we'll get somebody decent.

Good idea though, not been done in a long time.

Yep the golden tickets :laugh: but that was the housemates selecting at random, we get to vote in this one.

Noy like you to be cynical at all.

You're allways so possitive about BB :joker:

If this is what Jameie was reffering to as "never been done before" then he needs to do some research coz it was done in BB2.

Sorry don't like the idea, teenage girls will just vote for a good looking bloke who is boring as anything or a complete arsehole who thinks he is gods gift to women

So basically BB2, and BB7.. and then the 'BB12 Golden Ticket Twist' that never seen the light of day because no one gave a ******.

..Yeah, just stick to trying to think of real twists instead of recycling and renaming old ones. Ta.

Then they think of a new twist and everyone deems it terrible and nowhere near as good as the twists from the old series. Rock and a hard place.

We may have to accept every twist they're willing to pull of that is actually decent has already been done. I mean, can you think of any twist they haven't already done in some form which is realistically doable?

It sounds like a good idea but I could see it being ruined because some teenage girls will vote for the guy that they fancy but has no personality.

The result of the wild card will probably end up sending most of the viewers wild......Just a pointless gimmic me thinks....
