Don't you think Big Brother has turned into more of a fake, studio entertainment show a bit like TXF? :(
Let me explain:
C4 House exterior: Seemed like Davina invited a load of people to gathered in a car park outside of a house to meet her new mates
Ch5: Seems like the audience was shoved in and told not to do this this and this... with a fake host and a more controlled enviroment
Lets face it, we all loved it when some nutter from the crowd tried to jump out and kiss the latest housemate didn't we?
C4 HM entrance: Pulled up in a car with the occasional shot of the stage director trying to hide out of view to see an ACTUAL human open the door to the car who walk along into the house to a load of grabbing fans!
Ch5: Eye opens, HM talk to Brian whilst 99% of the viewers make a cupper and return after he's done.
Need I go on?
(By the way, "rounded" was just a metaphor)

This is what contributed to the downfall of Big Brother a good few years back. It's all a little too "produced" in some areas but seriously lacking in others.
The outside set on channel 5 clearly shows that they no longer understand the concept of less is more. Davina, a big screen and a crowd was much better.

I think the current stage is good for the celebrity one as it kinda suits the whole theme of them being celebrities.
Although I agree it was AMAZING the way the stage was placed out before on channel 4.
BB5,BB6,BB7,BB8,BB9 and BB10
They whole night was AMAZING!!
It felt like a public event and everyone was watching! Now it seems staged and fake. The cars/motorbikes/vans need to come back!
And the big walk to the house.
Brian needs to stay off the camera and read out things that the housemates said about themselves.
Not "hey how you doing!? Work it girl, whispers *i'm guessing your agent put you up for this* "

I think the should get rid of the eye and the ling stage and just have the circle stage but the i like the door and big screen. The exterior for the C4 BB always looked half finished and just gross.

The last good launch exterior was BB9 even though BB11 had a great atmosphere it looked like vomit!
BB10's launch was a ****ign joke it looked like about 30 people turned up and stood in a carpark to see what was going on.
The staging for channel 5 is epic as is the revolvong eye at the top of the stairs but they need to pull the stage back further from the house so theres a long walk through the crowd at ground level.

I think there's too many gimmicks all thrown together. House covered in random, different sized screens, a revolving platform, an giant eye, a long walk to the curving stairs. It's all too much.
They need to reign it all in.
BB11 had a good atmosphere and was the first time they'd really gone OTT on the exterior but every year is too much.
This was just right:

Yes. We all know this, like completely. This is exactly why alot of the real fans have went off it now.
The house itself feels like a studio now, not a house. The whole show feels like a parody of it's former self, they've stripped the reality part of it, the sense that anything could happen - and it's completely scripted and organized now.

LOL. I remember last Summer when the first Twitter pics of the new exterior hit the internet, and we all adored the eye walk in and stuff.
..Now, not one person likes it.
It's a shame, because they WILL NEVER go back to the old way - to them, it's like admitting they failed.

I like it but the stage need to be set further from the house so we get the dreaded walk to the house again and the house needs the screens taken off so we can see its an actual house.

I didn't mean a "long walk" in that sense. I mean "walk" as in platform, like a catwalk. They should do away with it.

I think thats where I feel a bit disjointed from some fans...I have never been interested in the staging, I wish I could get exited at the prospect of the house and the decor and the door and all that..And in a way im jealous as I feel I'm missing out in some way from the experience as a whole.
But for me It begins and ends with the housemates, and the tasks but to a lesser extent.
If they get the mix wrong everything else turns to crud...However if you have great housemates you dont notice the other stuff :)

I kind of agree but for me, where it's noticeable is when the staging is so OTT and tacky that it just makes the whole show feel brain killingly cheap.
I suppose in a way, since the move to channel 5, the housemates they've picked contribute to that feeling. Lacking any variety in the personalities.
Found this youtube video showing some of the differences between C4/C5.

I don't get the revolving eye at the top of the stairs? Like they're trying to make a point that if the housemates ever escape they'll have to jump to their death because the eye wont be rotated for them :suspect:

Ha the revolving eye. I went into the house in December as a guinea pig for celeb BB, and the eye malfunctioned when I was going in, it just kept on spinning. Slowly, but it was quite hilarious. It took like 10 minutes to sort out. I looked like such a dork.

That's one of the reasons I don't like it. It's pretty much an eye sore and overly complicating what should be a simple entrance to a house fgs.
Putting too much thought into the wrong aspect of the show. lol

I think I'm the only one that ADORES the exterior set
They've spent a hell of a lot of money on it. its glorious
You also have to remember that they no longer allowed to use the big george lucas stage for evictions etc
The stage is the eviction studio. I love thats its all together

Oh this will be good. I'm actually gonna open a tube of Pringles and watch this. :amazed:
But just watched the first minute there.. I love how they tried to compare CH4 to CH5's opening - in a bad light, but used BB5. And it backfired, because BB12's Opening Titles are far better than BB5's Opening Titles.

And about the exterior, I love the revolving eye thing - I'm sorry but on evictions, it's the only thing that can send goosebumps down me now.
Back in the day I use to get nervous or feel sick on Friday nights for BB Evictions. Now I don't give a sh*t. But for the split second that the camera pans up the revolving eye and it turns red, it's so intense.
