I love the launch but as sad as it is i allways dread opening the ratings thread the next day to see if it triumphed or flopped.
Like when CBB8 got over 5 million and peaked at 8 million at one point i almost came but then CBB9 got 3.5 million and i was like Sh!t.
The future of our regular summer BB depends on how this one rates and if the ratings are dire then im afraid its bye bye to our beloved summer series.
Last regular BB only launched with 2.7 million and then it went on to average 1.6 and on weekends even dipped below the 1 million mark which i never thought would happen with BB. The final got a piss poor 2.2 million :o
I think if this years averages about 2 million we're safe but anything under then im afraid it may be over.
Does anyone else feel like this?

But the fact Channel 5 are so eager to run BB into the ground so they can focus on their precious Celebrity bollocks - worries me.

Nope.

My life and/or my thoughts are not governed or controlled by any tv programme enough to give such things a second thought. I've more important things in life to think of, or that deserve my feeling sad about them, rather than a TV show's ratings.

I was until they renewed it. It's safe for another two years so i'm fine with the ratings.
No.
Just watch it and enjoy it, if the ratings are going to suck then they are going to suck and theres nothing you can do about it.

Ok thats a bit bitchy.
Im not "governed" or "controlled" by a tv show  im just passionate about BB as someone would be passionate about their favourite football team. IM A FAN!
I also have a life you know but love chilling out when i get home at night and watching BB and obviously i want it to do well so i can continue to do so.

The summer series isnt safe, They dont have to air it.
They will continue to do CBB but i think if regular BB fails they wont bother next year.

Not heard anything about a clause in the contract to stop bb if ratings flop.

Far from bitchy: you asked a question and factored into your OP how the rating made you feel on a personal level: I answered your question based on my personal feelings on the matter.

I didn't say your life was anything: I referred to my own life. Not yours.

Well said.
I don't care about the viewers, as long as it's on our TV then it's all good. I like the launch and all I worry about is if some massive knob turns up.
I wouldn't say I worry about it during the launch but I do get a bit concerned if it's getting poor ratings for the first few episodes

Can I ask why you would be concerned? You mean as in, they may put an end to BB once and for all... that type of concern?

Yeah Pyramid, if they continued to get bad ratings they could axe it. Always a worry

As long as I enjoy the product that is being offered, I could really care less. But as long as it has enough viewers to avoid the axe, then I'm happy.

You sound like a robot.
Like a media controlled answer.

Well yeah nobody really wants their favourite show to be getting terrible ratings when it's on the brink of the axe

It's something you may not be altogether used to. It's called a factual but polite reply.

Here here :)
If the launch has bad ratings then you've got to worry cos it's the biggest part of the show, other than the live finale

It wouldn't worry me at all. If it goes down the tubes, it goes down the tubes.

It's a tv programme - that's all ! lol.

No its not its you doing damage control to sound less bitchy when your intention in your first post was 100% intentionally bitchy.
But tbf alot of your posts are there primarily to provoke other members into an argument.
This is just my factual but polite opinion ofcourse.
True true but it would bug a quite a few people

I was woried about the ratings during the launch of CBB9 but once I got into it I decided I didn't care because I was enjoying it so much.
I'm not going to worry about the Ratings this year I'm just going to enjoy the show!
