At home we have a Grandfather clock in the hall just at the bottom of the stairs.
When I am home, my bedroom is at the top of the stairs and I leave my door open at night because I love the sound of that clock ticking. I know ticking annoys a lot of people but I find it really peaceful and relaxing.
