I wanted to discuss Big Brother 12, and I couldn't be bothered with the constant negativity and cynicism of the DS forums any more.
Stayed around after finding I was in Most Loved, and started posting in the non-Big Brother forums from then on.
I joined when I was 13 I think, I had just got a new computer in my room and I was looking on any website I could and as it was while BB9 was on I found this forum and have stayed ever since
but I dont really use it for BB, I use it more for the music/TV section

Good question, I joined tibb in the main for BB 2010, however once I started finding my way round the forum and got to chat to some members, even the ones I had problems with, very few, thankfully.
I found it was a good vehicle for me to still be able to converse and be in a peaceful setting away from everyone else, my own time, my own space.
I can watch TV, do work for Uni while on the forum too, listen to music or just be posting on the forum with nothing else on in the background, especially once I realised there were so many other subjects to post about too.
I then got friendly with some members, some of whom I do hope to meet sometime after I am finished with UNi and then some people come to matter more, it's like I have joined a community and it's a good feeling.
I personally realised how into the forum and its members I had got when I was taken aback and upset after losing Kerry,it showed we do form bonds with people on here and that is a really good and nice thing too.
Ukturtle going too is sad for me as well.
So I guess the reason I stick around is for that, my own time,my own space scenario I said before but also for the other members because there are now so many I love to see what they think of this or that as to a topic.
Another good question Niamh,as near all are from you.

Was looking for pictures of Steph from BB9 I think then came across the TiBB Gallery, had a look at the forum then signed up just to see who everyone liked an stuff. Probably wouldn't have stuck around but ended up trolling because everyone hated Mario, then towards the end started posting more seriously.
Can't remember how I stayed around off season, can remember for the first few weeks I thought the Big Brother 9 page was the only bit of the forum and didn't know any of the others existed

Because in the Summer of '08 I just lurked on here and seen all the BB9 Threads and was on here constantly but didn't have the balls to throw myself into the forum and join it.
So then in May the following year I just decided to join for BB10 Discussion, stuck around because half way through BB10 I made alot of good mates out of TiBB.

Stan = term for a fan/ obsessed fan
Well I never actually joined to post strangely enough  I was lurking around here for a few months before I signed up because of all the BB10 news/hype and stuff, the forum was really busy back then and sometimes it'd crash and only registered members could access it, so I just thought I'd sign up to carry on reading the threads. I didn't even make my first post until like July.
And what made me stay for off-season...well after BB I saw how it was like this whole exciting community on here so I thought I'd stick around and try joining in with it. And here I am today

I remember being obsessed with Big Brother in 2006 when BB7 was on and BB was still must-see TV, a lot of family and friends watched it too but I wanted to find a place online to discuss it more and find out all the latest news and rumors so I found this forum, think I must have searched "Big brother forum" on Google or something. It looked very different back then and I joined with the typical embarrassing BB related username. I know I was involved in a lot of forum games when I first joined where I became friendly with a lot of members so that's why I stuck around.

I joined during the build-up to BB11 and posted a lot during that time. I kinda stuck around for the first few weeks of the series but I got bored of talking about it and stopped posting.
Then I came back on in September of that year, and saw some thread Patrick made about having a fight or something in C&G and I've been posting on the rest go the forum ever since pretty much.

I lurked here in 2010 reading BB11 threads one night near the end of 2010 but forgot about it until I went on DS and read BB was returning, and I googled something to do with BB and Patrick's post came up about how excited he was, so I joined as a faily little mess and got caught up in the non-BB stuff and stayed.

To be honest before BB11 I'd only seen one other full series but thought I'd give this one a try and got quite into it but literally none of my friends liked BB so this was the only place I could discuss it. Just googled Big Brother forums, tried to sign up to DS, failed, so I tried this place instead. I remember Claymores was the first person I spoke to on here and he said I should stick around for off season so I did and gradually started coming on more and more

Great to see that I raise threads that inevitably bring about inspiration even via the replies.
Depsite you initially saying that there was nothing lacking in your life: then admitted their was as far as indepth discussion of Big Brother shows: I joined because it was recommended to me.
I stayed predominately through people like InOne who thought it was smart to welcome me by mouthing off and being very unpleasant... (yes, you all have Joe to thank for that). So that sort of set the scene and it has continued since I joined !!! :D
One of the main reasons I stuck around was because Tibb has that uniqueness to it: another was simply I didn't like seeing some of those that I regarded as friend: being unbelievably horrible about another fm and how that Fm looked in real life when they posted a photo up.
To me, that went beyond what was acceptable - it's okay not liking someone for their online persona and because of who they may or may not support in BB - : but when it comes to low blows about how a personal physically looks in real life: well...that to me was when I realised how shallow some people (that I regarded highly) actually can be.
Tibb has it's plus points. It also has it's minus pionts. Like everything else in life I guess.

Claymores was also one of the people who told me to stick around both for 'on' season and 'off...... it's very ironic that one poster who managed to persuade several others to stay on Tibb..... has been banned for so long.

There was good reason for his ban though, but that is Claymores business and it shouldnt be discussed on the main forum.

So joined there and just only stayed in the BB section when it was on cos it was so busy, didn't really think about the other forums. Started to get excited for Big Brother 9 and was just googling for any news, just after I saw the new eye in the newspaper. I was after house pictures and stuff and google led me to a few threads on here which I enjoyed reading. I kept popping back every now and then, not really aware of the rest of the forums pages and then decided to join up in the September. I only popped in and out, got into an argument with "Supernoodles" and eventually forgot about the forum for a while before coming back late 2009 and stayed for CBB7. I'd say it's only within the last year to 18 months that I started visiting more frequently. It's very addictive, sometimes have to force myself to switch the computer off.

How do you know they "got away with it" though? They could've been banned plenty of times around the period they were trolling. Or maybe it just wasn't deemed worth a long ban.

To chat about BB10, my friend had stopped watching it, and I had planned on not looking at it either but after seeing the launch I was hooked. So I looked for the C4 forums and they were gone, thankfully found this place through google. I might have checked DS first but they wanted me to pay to join there.
Once here, for a long while I wasn’t aware of the forum outside of the BB section, I usually hung out in the Live Updates Discussion Thread, and became friends with MissKittyFantastico & Kerry and a few others.
Towards the end of the BB I lurked a bit more in the likes of chat & games, and even tried posting once or twice.
Anyway around the finale of BB10 a few people were asking MissKitty to hang around, and she asked me to. I joined the Brotherhood for a short while after. The forum was full of stories of cliques not getting on, but I didn’t see much of that, the place just seemed almost as much fun as it was during BB.
I think it was around then that Ross started the Den, and a lot of the people who joined during the same BB I did, just seemed to gravitate towards it. I remember planning to leave after a year or so. However through the mixture of drama and fun chilledout nights, I found this place addictive. And over time it’s become less daunting.

Interesting thread, this. I'd just been banned from Digital Spy (surprise, surprise) and I had a browse of forums, so came on here, really. Also, I do enjoy Big Brother, so that's definitely a factor. Started off trolling (which I don't even need to say - you all know), was messed up in the head, made up a stupid lie about a car crash (I actually cringe remembering the nonsense I was typing betwee June and August of last year), then came back.
