An Egyptian man has shocked his family by waking up at his own funeral.

Waiter Hamdi Hafez al-Nubi, from Naga al-Simmanm near Luxor, was declared dead after suffering a heart attack at work.

Mourners had gathered for the 28-year-old's burial on Friday. His body had been washed and prepared according to Islamic tradition.

However, when a doctor noticed that al-Nubdi was still warm, she checked his vital signs to find he was still breathing.

The medic revived him, causing his mother, who thought she had lost her son, to faint.

Relatives turned the funeral into a party of celebration at al-Nubdi's 'resurrection', the Sunday Mirror reports.

In February, 95-year-old Li Xiufeng climbed out of her coffin the day before her funeral in China. She was later found cooking herself a meal in her kitchen.

Is it Islamic Tradition to have a crucifix over a coffin.:conf: I'm pretty sure it isn't.

'''Dead' man wakes up at his own funeral...''

As opposed to waking up at someone elses funeral

As funny as this comes across as, it seems weird the amount of doctors who misdiagose their patients as being dead. :suspect:

If anyone wakes up at their own funeral in this country, probably after a post-mortem and almost certainly pumped full of methanol, formaldehyde and a cocktail of other chemicals, then I mightbe interested enough to read the story.

This **** allways used to happen back in the day where they would accidentally bury people who were actually still alive so they attached a string from the coffin to a bell above ground so if they were alive they could ring it to let the graveyard attentand know, hence the saying "saved by the bell".

Cant believe it can still happen in this day and age they, he could have so easily been buried.

Just some fun facts for you all :)
