This Competition is open to everyone and if I receive enough entries/interest etc I will make it a regular thing, entries should be sent to me by pm you can also post them in the thread if you like but make sure you send them to me too so I know its definitely an entry and you can change any sigs you have already entered up until I close the entries, once I have enough they will be split up into rounds and voted on by forum members the winning two or three from each round will go into the final, the winner will receive an award.

Animated Sigs are allowed.

Theme

The Theme for the first competition will be "Music" so create a sig which is based around music, can be anything to do with music.

Only entries sent to me by pm will be included
Sigs should be no larger than 700px X 350px

You can do it on whatever graphics program you want, theres some free ones if people don't have photoshop.

I used to be really into making blends on my old forum. I'm lazy now though.

When my old PC died i lost everything i made, and i was very bitter about it, so now i don't really bother. Now i just crop pics and add a bit of text. I miss blending though, it was fun.

I used motion blur on it. I just checked a tutorial on youtube on how to make signatures in gimp2 yesterday evening. And it explained doing techniques like that step by step.

The program has loads of things you can do to images.

I downloaded GIMP 2 the other day and a whole bunch of fractals, textures and renders so will give this a go, but I've literally never made forum signatures/avatars before so don't expect miracles :laugh: this was the first thing I made... I'm not entering it unless my next attempts are somehow worse, lol

The free program is called Gimp2.

And it looks a bit overwhelming at first, but it's basically just like paint with a lot more options.

There are loads of tutorials kindly put on youtube, for whatever technique you want to try. Blending is a good one (there are some amazing examples of it in this thread), it just takes time, and it makes different images look like they belong to the one image (if that makes sense).

Having your layers window open makes things easier. In Gimp2, goto Windows, then Dockable Dialogs, then Layers.

Also under Windows in Gimp2 is New Toolbox, that will open the window with more of the stuff you'll be familiar with from the likes of the Paint program.
