why the rise in racism in schools 23.05.12
i work in central London,
yes i do commute,
from watching the news this morning,
this report is corrupt and dose pollute.
schools are no longer all white,
this makes me enthusiastic,
yes i do witness racism,
the white children are called fake and white plastic.
head scarf and religious garments,
all give London a spice,
and i agree we should all embrace,
but there is a hidden price.
what about the 80,000 increase,
this 4 year period is shocking,
but i believe the schools are getting something,
there aim they protect and are blocking.
its money ordinate d,
or to get special focus,
but this race card will back fire,
and eat away at society like a locos.
please "news" stop,
stop making race a focal,
we all need to live together,
and with my poem i am being vocal.
( i think if the news stop pointing out the difference i am sure we would all be much happier and get along allot better, but i do feel it swings both ways and anyone can be hurt by nasty comments. dose racism exist in scools?)

Anything can exist in schools. It isn't about just racism. I'm white and I got some terroring in school - EVERYONE did, regardless of your skin colour, gender, sexuality or whatever. I've been given heaps of racist abuse and I'm white. Everyone can be a victim of racial abuse.

In the playground any difference is pounced upon. Whether that's colour, religion, sexuality, weight, disability, hair colour, wealth status or type of family - children do discriminate but not in a calculated fashion. It does need to be combatted but I don't think children can be called racist, homophobic, xenophobic or sexist.

Thank you. Someone who actually talks sense. Bullies will always find something to par normal people on. It really is as simple as A, B, C and 1, 2, 3.

if you post on a public forum you have to be prepared to take the good and the bad comments.
you say about the press talking about race and then you post a thread on it!

Not that many people are racist anymore. It's just a small minority who forgot to dump all their baggage in the 1960s. It just doesn't make sense to hate someone based on skin colour, something you have no control over.

I would say yes, but i wouldn't say it thrives, i'd say it is challenged and is more under ground.
The options on this poll were not well thought out. i couldn't vote for any of the options given.

I don't think it exists. It's just a load of foreigners coming over here and making stuff up about us proud, white British people. After all, if they don't like it, they can get out of my country.

I think joes point is that all groups discriminate and hold prejudices against one another. It is not simply a black/white issue but black/black/ white/asian asian/black...
I may be wrong but thats how I interprate it.

In fact, do you know what? I'm clearing this up right now - you had better not be trying to suggest that only white people are in any position to be racist because if you are that would be the largest pile of nonsense ever. Anyone can be racist to anyone. None of this is about only white people being racist - it ain't. For starters, as I did say above (and so did someone else), it's not only racism that exists in schools, so don't even think about saying just that. Every sort of prejudice and/or discrimination can exist in schools. I'm not saying it does, but it can. Anyway, on the issue of racism, everyone is in a position to give/receive racism, although even then it's a very small minority on either side.
Also, don't even try and pretend the lot of this is all new and just unwrapped, because it isn't. There have always been idiots and ******* stupid enough to not be able to accept the fact that there are social classes outside their own and that everyone is equal. It's always been there and if anything it used to be a lot worse than what we have now, particularly the racism bit. I just find it incredibly irritating the way racism is singled out when every other type of prejudice/discrimination in schools can happen.

all racism is not necessarily equal though Redway.
You are sounding like one of those str8 guys that bitches about "how come gay guys get to grab women's breasts but if i did it i'd go to jail!!!???"
because gay men don't have a history of raping and abusing women, that's why.
And that's why white racism against blacks and asians is different than an asian or black being racist against whites.
History and Power.
All racism is WRONG, but not all racism is equal.

Absolute rubbish. In such a multicultural world now, it is so easy for anyone to target anyone now. Back to the slavery days, America and England were predominantly white, so obviously whites were always going to be more racist. But these days anyone can be racist. Why? Because we're multicultural. Does racism still exist in today's society? Yes, but not all that often. But still...surely this should tell you that we ain't living in the 1950s anymore. The times have changed.
Here's something for you: if everyone's equal, why aren't all types of racism equal? After all, skin colour is just that - skin colour. It has no effect on anything else.

That's why i made a point of saying all racism is wrong.
But racism is not equal historically, and it's not equal in countries where there is a racial minority.
When you are a minority, you don't have the power to bully anyone. So if you say something hurtful as a minority it's not as intimidating or hurtful or bullying as if you are in the majority.
Obviously the group that is in the majority have the greater responsibility because they have the greater power.
Like Spider-Man said, "with great power comes great responsibility"
You can't expect everyone to have equal responsibility if they don't have equal power.

Its not about bullying, it's about ignorance and prejudice.

Hooray. More posts from you banging on with a whole pack of nonsense.
That's the thing, Alex. In this current world this 'ethnic minority' nonsense is dying out. Go to London (England's capital city), Manchester and Birmingham for starters you will find that there is an equal proportion of each race. Even Chelsea (London), Manchester City (Manchester) and Manchester United (Manchester) football teams have plenty of black players, which is great. I don't know how it is in America but over in the UK anyone can be racist to anyone because it's not all-white anymore. I understand that in history white people were obviously found to be more racist (obviously), but we're in 2012 now. The only effect that history had on different races being racist is that the majority of racists in the UK and America are white. There's nothing stopping anyone else from being racist, though. All racists are just as bad as each other, I'm afraid. As I said, if we're all equal (which we are), all sorts of racism are equal. They're all morons who can't accept the fact that other people have different skin colours to them.
I have a friend who went to Croydon and there were a bunch of black and white people being appallingly racist to an Asian girl. Oh, but of course, you'll let them off because they're not white. What happened to equality? No. Just no. Why can't you ****ing get into your skull that there are plenty of black racists, plenty of white racists, etc, all living in this country and d'you wanna know why? Because this IS their country. You don't have to be white to be English, didn't you know? To be British by nationality means to be born IN BRITAIN. Full stop. It's basic.
So go away, don't even talk to me, and get revising those History textbooks before you start talking utter nonsense to someone who actually knows what he's talking about.
Jesus.
