Prometheus is an upcoming science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron. Set in the late 21st century, the story centers on the crew of the spaceship Prometheus as they follow a star map discovered among the remnants of several ancient Earth civilizations. Led to a distant world and an advanced civilization, the crew seeks the origins of humanity, but instead discovers a threat that could cause the extinction of the human race.

I think it was supposed to be a Alien prequel, but they hired Damon Lindelof (Lost) to re-write the script and make it it's own franchise.

I'm just really intrigued by the mystery of how it relates to Alien seeing as it's no longer a straightforward prequel. Trailer looks awesome

I heard the planet/spaceship in this film might not even be the same one thats in Alien.

No he's above that now for me. He's on the road to becoming the new Robert de Niro for me Bond would have him typecast for life.

Best actor along with Ryan gosling and Tom Hardy

I enjoyed the film. Too many die hard Alien fan boys are having a hard on about it not going the way they wanted it. Fassbender steals the film as usual.

Watched it last night.

I'm not a huge Alien geek since I've only seen the first one (but do love it), so I wouldn't put this down to that... but I was quite disappointed.

Visually, it's stunning. Even superior to Avatar. However, like Avatar, it was quite thin on plot.

I can't quite remember character names (since most were left off-screen for much of the film apart from David (Fassbender) and Elizabeth (Rapace)), but those two were by far the best actors. Idris Elba and Charlize Theron played well too, there was really nothing at fault with the acting.

I didn't realise Guy Pearce until I found out he was the old dude.

I spent a lot of the film hiding behind my hands since the tension music was sort-of overused and a lot of the time resulted in nothing, but a lot of the gore and attacks were pretty terrifying.

Fyfefield's reanimated body attacking most of the nobodies in the holding bay :o

But one thing I didn't understand was the Scottish woman. Was she an android? Since she was helping Weyland and David to try and contact the lifeforms after Elizabeth's boyfriend bit the dust... it's like in the film's quest to "answer life's unanswered questions" it just left the audience with even more

Oh and the birth operation scene was fantastic.

Overall it's a visually breathtaking and action-packed film but is ultimately let down by direction and lack of plot :/

I really liked this :)

Charlize seemed a bit pointless in the film, but she was hot :D Fassbender was amazing in it :) thought he did a really good job.

I agree
