Channel 5 today reveals the new Big Brother House, ahead of the shows launch On Tuesday 5th June 2012 at 9.00pm.
The daddy of all reality shows, Big Brother, returns to Channel 5 this June for a long hot summer run that will surprise, delight and have the viewers glued to their screens. Not only will the housemates dwell in one of the most sumptuous houses in Big Brother history, they’ll also be able to enjoy the largest living space ever.
The house has been designed with old school Vegas glamour. The garden showcases two famous views from Nevada: the Vegas strip at dusk and the rocky outcrops of the Grand Canyon. A huge hot tub, positioned right next to the swimming pool, is guaranteed to get the housemates steamed up. The garden also features a grand dining space large enough for the entire house. The outside glass-walled bathroom can only be accessed from the garden and features a rock wall, an opulent gold and black colour scheme and a roll top bath.
The state of the art kitchen has granite surfaces, marbled walls and bronze designer lights while the bedroom and bathroom both open out into the garden. Showgirls take centre stage in the bedroom with can-can girls emblazoned on the walls and a huge vintage-style theatre mirror area where the housemates get ready.
The housemates’ every move will be recorded on one of the 45 cameras. 12,000m of LED lighting has been laid throughout the house. There are 40 fixed cameras, five manned cameras, six infra- red cameras and a tower cam that will provide never before seen angles of the house. Plus 67 camera mirrors have been strategically positioned across the house meaning that, as ever, there will be nowhere for the housemates to hide.
Susy Price, Executive Producer for Big Brother at Initial adds: “This year, the house has been given a complete facelift both structurally and aesthetically, combining aspirational sleekness with old school Vegas glamour. It may look like a summer paradise but for housemates this will be no holiday.”
Steve Gowans, Head of Factual Entertainment, Channel 5 comments: "This year's house has been designed to transport the housemates into a world combining the exuberance of Las Vegas with the rugged Wild West. It will provide a dramatic backdrop to this summer's series, in which housemates will be put through some of the most exciting challenges to date."
Big Brother on Channel 5 will be produced by Endemol UK ’s production arm Initial. Channel 5’s Head of Factual Entertainment, Steve Gowans, will oversee the new series for the channel. Katy Smith, Denis O’Connor and Susy Price are the Executive Producers of Big Brother and Nick Samwell-Smith is Creative Director of Initial.

I like the walls in the bathroom on the newer pictures. But they've overdone the style with the awful furniture. Looks disgusting.

And although I like the dining area, they've overdone the neon lights again. I wish they'd move away from TV studio look. And the photographs they seem to love printing on the walls don't do it any favours either, especially outside.

Aww, but this is making me nostalgic for the days I used to get really excited. It's non existent these days.

Yeah, the pool hasn't moved which is annoying. As nice as it is, they should've moved it.

And I don't like the hot tub being next to the pool either, should've stuck that in some separate corner somewhere.

It does look as if it was added in last minute, and they didn't know where to put it. Still love the garden though, the best I've seen!

Probably, but when they knocked down the back end of the house before BB9 and rebuilt it, they took away any chances of having a second house with a garden. So I doubt there will be a proper house next door because a house with no windows/garden for more than 3 days would send anyone crazy.
