Channel 5 have released this:

The daddy of all reality shows returns to Channel 5 this June for a summer-long run that will surprise and delight. The series will kick off with ‘classic’ Big Brother. More than 7,000 people auditioned to be a housemate this year resulting in a line-up that is entertaining, memorable and totally explosive. And, for the first time ever, the audience will be given the opportunity to pick a final ‘wild card’ housemate to enter the house in the first week. As always, Big Brother has plenty of twists and turns up his sleeve – but the housemates will also be shocked by some game-changing tasks throughout the run which will turn the house upside down. After the fun and games of a full classic run a new class of celebs will enter the house for ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ at the end of the summer. A stunning mix of stars is being lined up for the series. The weekly live evictions will once again be helmed by Brian Dowling. And to ensure viewers get an even better view into the housemates’ time in the house, live streaming will follow each eviction show. For 2012, the house has been completely renovated and redesigned.

Over 150,000 auditioned for BB3.

The series appeal has sadly declined.

I'll bet most of those 7,000 have applied before, too ..... ;)

So few that everyone queued inside.

I saw some familiar faces (auditioned these last few years) in Glasgow but am dubious about "wild card" - if it takes months to get police clearance, med checks how can that be done in one week?

'Celebrity Big Brother' just has to ruin it at the end of what could be a truely amazing series.

Going to be fed up of this house by the time of cbb.

If they change it then fair enough LOL. It's just the idea of CBB though, it's like too much of anything can make you sick.

All the potential wildcards will have gone through the same checks.

And if anyone walks we'll probably end up with the ones we rejected anyway.

Last years auditons were embarresing.

Didnt even queue when in previous years aka the bb5 years you would have to wait for about 6 hours to even be seen.

Yet they came up with a good cast.

Or were they all the ones from previous years invited to audition?

2000? that can't be right surely.. some non league football clubs get bigger attendances then that

They only had auditions in London and Manchester last year.

A few more venues this time so the numbers were likely to be much better.

No TV advertising though, just starnow and a press release.

Mark and Faye were in the final 81 lineup for BB11.

Aaron will have auditioned a few times.

Think about it, anyone decent would have gone in by now (I include myself in that scathing statement) just hope 5th June is not the same crap HMs as the last few years.
