E4 Revenge. Starts Monday 28th May, 9pm

Just caught the trailer for Revenge which is apparently pretty big in America. Anyone seen any of this? The trailer looks kind of epic and it attempts to fill the Desperate Housewives void (it's even moved into DH's old Sunday 9pm slot in america). So yeah, anyone going to tune in?

One of the hottest new dramas to emerge out of the US this year, Revenge has been wowing critics and viewers across the pond with its soapy style and crazy plot twists. Inspired - very loosely - by The Count of Monte Cristo, the show stars Emily VanCamp as Emily Thorne, a young woman intent on getting even with those who wronged her and her father, who was framed for a crime he didn't commit. If you're missing Desperate Housewives, we think Revenge might be the perfect replacement - the show's already taken over the old Housewives slot in America and now looks likely to take the UK by storm.

Some excellent shows have come from the US. The Bitch.in Apartment.23 is epic. But Im straying off topic, sorry. So who is in this Revenge then? Apart from Emily?

Fall TV wouldn't be complete without a few soapy new dramas, and ABC's Revenge, which premieres tonight, fits that bill nicely. Emily VanCamp (probably best known for her role on Brothers & Sisters) headlines the drama about a woman with a dark past who heads to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the people who destroyed her life and her family when she was just a kid.

Emily, the woman who just moved into the beach house is getting revenge on the people who live in the big house I think. Her living there [where she lived when she was a kid] is all part of the plan. Hence the flashbacks, she's remembering things that happened when she was there as a kid. Not sure how the man being shot in the beginning is relevant.

I don't see how this could be stretched out for several seasons though. Then again, I thought the same about Lost.

Th recognised here coz it knew her when it was a puppy and she was a kid. Clever dog eh? Anyway that man and her were friends and played on the beech and she recognised him (flashback)

Amanda's dad invested into his company and when he died she received the 49%. He handed over the box with the letter and that to her when she came out of juvie.

Missed the first five minutes or so and really struggled to get it after that. I'll rewatch it too and see how that goes. Not sure its my cup of tea, but it was intriguing. I'll have a read of the Wiki article first.

I don't know how much to say as I've watched Season 1 elsewhere .But yes the flashbacks happen quite often - later on in the season there is an entire episode done in flashback

I really loved it and it did great for ABC .It was the networks first show in its time slot (Wed 10pm) to get a 2nd season for more than ten years .Which was a surprise as it was up against CSI Vegas and SVU.And they now moved it to be DHousewives' replacement on a Sunday

Haven't seen Apartment 23 but I did watch Suburgatory ( of the 2 sitcoms E4 got) and thought it was pretty funny ,if a bit weird

Wow, went online to rewatch the pilot (much better when you properly concentrate and understand what's going on. lol) and then catch up on episode 2 for Monday.
I've watched up to episode 6 now. Gets better and better, I was having trouble keeping track of all the crossing wires and who knows what etc but it's now becoming my guilty pleasure. Was worried about it becoming a little formulaic but up to now I like it.

I've just finished watching the season (can you tell I don't have a job? :tongue:).

I loved the constant fast pace of everything, can't think of a slow episode but I did start to dislike it when it steered too far into campy soap territory. But it regained just enough in the dark thriller genre to keep me interested.
The final 5 minute montage was edge of your seat stuff and has set some interesting areas up for season 2. Just hope a certain character returns otherwise the show will really lose something.
