View Full Version : Awful Twist- Nominations on First Night
*mazedsalv**
27-05-2012, 11:06 PM
In a shock twist, housemates will be forced to nominate rivals for eviction within minutes of entering the house.
They are all currently in hiding and have no clue about the cruel surprise awaiting them on launch night next week.
But it means that their first impressions will be vital.
The moment they are all inside and the door slams shut, they will be told to start nominating two people for the boot.
Phone lines will open at the end of the show and the two or more wannabes with the most nominations will face the public vote.
The first eviction will be on Friday, June 8, meaning one unlucky candidate will have lasted for just 72 hours.
A source said: “It’s an evil stunt but it will have a huge impact. Although they won’t realise it, their entrance into the house means everything.

Nothing new. They did this on BB4's launch night. I don't mind nominations based on first impressions (I think BB3 did something similar aswell) but an eviction after only 3 days? I don't like that, just like in BB10 when Benazir was thrown out too early.

Tuesday-Friday is 4 days and Friday is day 4, but because the housemates don't go in till the night and the eviction will be on a night, you don't include that day. I've always thought it odd that launch day is counted as day 1 when they're only in there for 2 hours of it.

Starting on a Tuesday was the perfect way to spend more time with the HMs before the first eviction the following Friday. IIRC the first series waited 2 weeks for an eviction.
Although given Channel 5's random editing, I doubt it matters anymore.

Applausetore are not offering tickets for a live show on Friday 8th. Only tickets going are for the launch on June 5th.
Also, the listings I've seen do not have a 2nd show or extnded show for Friday 8th. Just the hour-long slot at 10pm followed by BOTS.

It could work if they divided the hosemates into 2 teams and made them jury stylee agree on one of the opposing team to go based on first impressions?...
Well since it worked so well in BB4, why not try it again?
BB4 - won by a bible-bashing teetotal homophobic who, coincidentally, had an award-winning brother in TV production and who portrayed himself as a simple Orcadian fisherman when he was, in fact, a wealthy multilingual international fish trader - strangely, he never exposed his chest, even in the BB pool - had he got 3 nipples, 0 nipples, ginger chest hair? - we never found out, but he subsequently secured several seasons of Scottish pantomime without any sign of visible talent ..... :pipe:
..... and we could have had weeks of Anouska getting her kit off .....

Stupid, stupid, stupid idea. We will most certainly lose one of the most interesting characters the first week.
Look no one enjoyed BB4 ....End of haha
Surprisingly, I did - well, apart from the appalling "WWJD" Stout and his promotional tour to BB Africa .....
The HMs were allowed lots of alcohol, even a free bar at one stage, so there were a few "binges" ..... ;
There were a few HMs to actually like, too .... Jon, Nush, Tania and "Fat" Gos .....
The series averaged 4.6 million viewers - even launches and finales can't get anywhere near that nowadays .....

Did they not learn from BB4? they got rid of one of the best people because of this twist

In BB4, we lost the best house mate in the first week because of it. After Anouska's eviction, it never recovered and that's why BB4 constantly rates as a lot of peoples worst BB ever. She was the only one that had any life in her.

Was it a vote to evict then? I'm thinking the voting might be able to avoid this. Just have to hope it isn't two big characters up.

How will we know if it's a potential big character though, if live feed is absent? With no decent live feed it's a joke to even expect the public to vote. Maybe if they had done this in BB11 though we might have got rid of Josie straight off.
Not too bothered though as going to give BB a miss from here on out as it doesn't entice me like it used to.

This is mad. There's no live audience. The Friday show is only an hour (Beinazir left in a 90 minute show), there's a vote for a wildcard going on so presumably no other vote and all this is supposed to Brian's fault?

Wow. That explains the wildcard housemate I've been reading about. I'm a bit shocked to see that there's going to be nominations straight away, and then an eviction on the first Friday! :(
Some previous members have said it already, but I do agree...huge possibility of losing a potentially great housemate so quickly.
Also...these people are basically going to be judged on looks, right? Clearly no way of knowing who the person you are nominating is. I think that's a tad harsh.
bananarama
29-05-2012, 10:56 AM
Not so much a twist more a swindle of the housemates and public being forced to make probably an unwise decision.
Its time the fools realised thet no evictions should take place before two weeks are up. Public can then better judge potential great housemates versus duds......
Gambling on losing a good housemate can literaly cost the series......
Marsh.

It's ore than likely the housemates getting to choose the wildcard replacement after the public have voted one out.

Its just a rehash of BB4 where on the first night they had to nominate based on "first impressions" which ended up with the entertaining girl leaving.
Even in all they articles now they keep quoting "first impressions count" so we have a BB4 and a BB2 twist with the wildcard in the first 4 days.
Its very unoriginal.
