On that wall right next to the two chairs. They could've incorporated the existing neon-light border except have the entire wall one big neon light, that changes colour a la BB8, i.e. green for an open door, red for in use, blue for not in use etc.
That way the Diary Room would've finally moved, and the stairs leading into the house could've been covered up again.
I honestly think it's the only thing that's letting this house down.

Agree completely.
2007.. It's been 5 Years since the Diary Room has been moved properly, it's been in the same place basically since BB9.. the show is on it's 13th Series now, it's a joke.
I'd even love if they just got rid of the hall leading down to the DR - and had it one room again, but they never would because of what happened in BB7. Not that the producers of Channel 5's Big Brother even have any knowledge on the events of BB7 - I think their logic is;
'There's a hall here, lets no bother moving the diary room. There's nothing wrong with it and it's fine as it is. The hall is also fine. And the leather wall that we've had for the past 3 series is also perfect and goes with anything, let's keep that. How wonderful.'
You're right - moving that DR would of been the only thing that could of made the house better.
..That and getting rid of the tacky graphics in the bathroom, garden and bedroom walls.

Should of put it slap bang in the middle of the garden

Always thought this myself - a diary room in the garden would be legendary.
Something BB5/BB9 should of done with their evil themes if I'm honest.

Yeah I've always liked the idea of a Diary Room in the garden. Would be quite cool.
Even the bedroom...a Nikki-type housemate screaming in there at 3am whilst everyone's trying to sleep :joker:

That whole area of the stairs and diary room entrance looks out of place and bare. They should have built a wall right across and brought back the old entrance style or atleast kept the spiral staircase

If they went back to the BB6/BB7 kind of entrance halls, oh my god.

BB9's Nomination Pod would of been an awesome concept for an outdoor Diary Room, not for that series though.. because as we all know, BB9's Diary Room was the greatest of them all. But yes in general, this concept is great.

A see through diary room wouldn't work. They wouldn't feel like they could vent/bitch/say how they really feel with people watching them.

BB5's was my favourite, followed by BB3's and BB7's.

What happened in bb7 that makes them not have a 1room diary room again?

I want to agree with you, BUT a few European BBs hardly change their house design at all. Italian BB for example has the same house as BB1 and the same LOGO! The eye has been the same from BB1-BB12. The lack of change makes them focus on outrageous and brilliant twists throughout the run (and because the last 3 series have been 5-6 months long). It hasn't damaged its popularity, actually I think the final 2 series ago (BB10 I think for them) received 9m viewers and around a 6 milliion average, 10 years on.
So, it's quite good that they try to change it every series here.

They should have moved it, but i guess times are hard, and they didn't have the budget to build another new room.

Since they are so fond of vomit tasks they should put the diary room in the toilet.
Flush all that puke away.

I think it was used twice in 13 weeks, was a good idea but they didn't use it. Didn't they just allow them to discuss them anywhere in the end?

No, the following week they punished nearly all the house (Dale, Darnell, Kathreya, Maysoon, Mohamed, Rachel, Rex & Stuart) for nom discussion (using football team code) by putting them up for eviction. Luke vs Dale became something much less predicable.
BB's fiddling made no difference. They couldn't save Luke. That's why the next time the put everyone up as punishment for nom discussion they switched it to vote to save (Hira would not have gone on vote to evict).

And what a sensible decision that was. Hira still remains one of the dullest housemates of all time.
If only they'd done the same to save Luke over Dale.

Agree the Diary Room should move about again and that wouldv'e been a good place - unless there's a secret room there? Hmm...

Probably BB10 then, wasn't there at least a week or two one of those series where it was allowed, hence them relaxing the rule in BB11 and getting rid of it in BB12.

Luke was abysmal. His and Rebecca's evictions justified all of the vote to evicts ever. Punch the air and shout for joy time.

Luke was hilarious and stirred loads of sh*t up, thus creating storylines and entertainment. Evicting entertaining housemates can never be justified.
Wasn't too bothered about Rebecca though.
