View Full Version : Another idea for live feed

Okay...I know there's a lot of these threads but I've just seen someone's post on DS that gave me a little idea for something similar.

Because C5 are so seemingly obsessed with their 'social media', why couldn't they have an online live feed on the website, with an optional chat box type thing around it? That way, people would be engaging in discussion whilst watching the feed, thus making it more interactive and surely more appealing to their target audience? Of course you could have a multi-camera selection (wouldn't we all love that) but even a single feed on its own with an optional chat box to get people talking would be good enough.

They could promote it all over Facebook, Twitter etc. It sounds much more of an appealing, interactive idea than just a plain online live feed.

And obviously they could still charge a subscription fee if they wanted. What's to lose?

UPDATE: Mock-up of what it could look like (but obviously done better)

I thought about an idea like this as well. It could be so brilliant to just have something like that and would make the show way more exciting and interactive, having an online feed people could join in with by discussing it in a live chat box. I just don't understand why they wouldn't at least try something like this.

The site feels like it's screaming out for an interactive page like that as well.

Isn't that just what nearly every other country does already?

If it is then all the more reason for it to happen here. Chop chop Channel 5.

Not only that...but they could also incorporate it into their Facebook page. I'm sure you could hold that type of thing on there now, even better surely?

Yeah exactly. And I think it's the type of thing a lot of people like nowadays, especially their target audience. The BBC run things similar and they're always popular, and then of course Ustream which seems popular as well at the minute.
