the one argument that can wholly undermine the purpose of 'The Voice' is "If it's all about the Voice, why isn't this on the radio?"

Obviously no one really listens to the radio but it just exposes how flawed the show's concept is... they put on huge stage productions and get backing dancers... that's not about the voice at all

Many years ago an artist could release material without any promos of themselves. They could advertise and do interviews. Send out press releases. Use artworks to promote their releases, adding mystery to the persona behind their recordings. Some consumers would not even be bothered by this then.

An artist would not survive in that way in these times. They have to have some kind of image.

"You could have the best voice ever, but be as boring as hell," Snoop Dogg is quoted as saying in the Daily Star. That is true, but sometimes people like the underdog. I think it works from both ends of the spectrum. With no in between. For most..

It stops being about the voice as soon as the coachs turn their chairs at the auditions.

That's very true.

I think he has some valid points as to the problem with the format 'The Voice' has put in place but for me at any rate,I can see Bo becoming a star, I for one would certainly buy her recordings.

Sadly though she is the only one for me to have really stood out as the series has progressed with the exception of Adam Isaacs who Tom sent home way too soon.
