Looks okay, but seems like they've expanded on the Windows Media Centre design and brought it into the whole of their OS.

I'm not going to rush out to buy it, I've only just got W7

Microsoft should just give up

Hopefully when Apple release Mountain Lion, it will be start of people flipping to Apple in large numbers.

Apple have a lot wrong with them too. Applephiles annoy the balls off me. But yeah using macbook pros is like having sex with technology.

Sam:)
02-06-2012, 11:47 PM
But who has 1300 grand for a laptop

Stu

Oh I'm not saying Apple don't have problems. Mac OS is a far better way of computing than Windows will ever be, however.

And thats so true.

But who has 1300 grand for a laptop

So you'd pay around £300 for a computer that will probably break down a bunch of times and cost you tonnes in repairs instead?

I'm too lazy to adapt to the Mac way of doing things and am too comfortable in Windows :idc:

I hope that never happens, Windows mess up every now and again, but is anyone forcing Windows 8 down your throat? No. Windows 7 is going to be supported for years to come, there is no need to change your Windows PC/Laptop because it's very simple to upgrade. Try upgrading your Mac ****e, it's impossible.

Macs/Macbooks sell for one reason: They look nice, but it a laptop that 'looks nice' really worth more money than a more functional laptop? People just want Macs because they see those movie heros using them, well done, you fell for product placement, good job.

Hell, the fact that a large range of Microsoft users are still using a decade old operating system says everything about the longetivity of Microsoft's tech vs Apple's tech.

Windows 7 is perfect for me, I can't be bothered to get used to a Mac unless I had it alongside a Windows laptop (won't be happening at those prices though) just because it does so much random crap but everything seems to cost loads of money and it just would confuse me too much and it'd be too different.

Windows 8 looks so....eh.

I agree, to be honest, I think Windows 8 is more aimed at tablets and touchscreen PCs than desktop PCs. There's really no need to upgrade to Windows 8, 7 has everything that your gonna need for at least the next 7 years. It's your PC that you upgrade, rather than your operating system. And heck, if you ever find your desktop looking outdated, there's always rainmeter (http://rainmeter.net/cms/), which can make your Windows 7 desktop look like this (http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/332/7/3/skyrim_rainmeter_skin_by_axerron-d4hk0t0.jpg) (among many other things)

Thats hardly the reason at all. :joker:

So many people are stuck on XP, not because of its longevity, but because the mess that was Vista scared so many people away from upgrading. People remained with an older operating system over the new one because of how poor it was. Users even downgraded from Vista! Doesn't that say something about the quality of Microsoft's computing products?

I switched to Mac not because of product placement, but because I was sick of all the **** you got with Windows. All I'd ever known with that terrible OS was slowness and terrible performance. I abhorred the way the software worked too because I found them so clunky. I wanted a computer that would be relatively free from all those problems, and thus far my Mac has been.

I just hate Windows okay I wouldn't ever switch back even if you paid me.

But backwards Vista uses far to much memory
And you are right
to never go back to Fecked Up Bill Gates Windows.

Clever of Apple to start production on a smaller Ipad
of around £139 7" approx size
to match the Google and Microsoft mini tablets.

So you'd pay around £300 for a computer that will probably break down a bunch of times and cost you tonnes in repairs instead? If you are incapable of carrying out the most basic of maintainence and repair jobs of your own equipment then you are probably better off with a mac but dont let the fact that for the price of a macbook pro with the i7 processor you could buy 5-6 laptops of around the same specification for the same price cloud your judgement.
Apple fans never cease to amaze.

I've never had to get either of my laptops repaired? I've had one for nearly 2 years and its still working perfectly. Apples quite exaggerated...

So they are doing the same as Apple.

I don't plan on smashing my Windows laptop with a mallet any time soon, so it shouldn't need repairing for quite a while.
