View Full Version : What would you change about BBUS?

Anything and everything that you would want to change. What would it be?
I would change:
1. The OTT editing- it's just too much and ery distracting. The way I would want it edited is simple like BBUK style (minus Marcus screaming and the music montages).
2. Launch- I would make it live and I would have the HGs come out one by one after their VT. And we could possibly have a house tour.
3. Public Vote- the weekly thing is nice, but it just isn't enough. If the HGs knew that the public was voting to evict then maybe they wouldn't feel the need to whisper and strategize 24/7
4. The house- I would change the layout at least every two or three seasons.

Nothing tbh, I love it the way it is. I'd love more episodes per season, but that's not gonna happen.

Public vote didn't work during BB1, so I would not bring that back.
I like the idea of a live launch with an audience, I think it would be more exciting. This way we get to see the HGs enter the house on Day 1 and it'll be a more interesting show.
I wouldn't change anything else.

I think the 3 episodes per week works since it's always happened, but like I wish it'd run for 13/14 weeks instead of 10.

Completely forgot about the amount of episodes we get. We probably only get three because of the editing that goes into each episode.

I didn't mean BB1 style. The way I would do is maybe like BB8 style with America's player but this time the HGs would know and their wouldn't actually have to be somebody casting the vote for the public.

1. Alison Grodner
2. No rigging.
3. Either everyboy plays for the veto or the HoH and nominees choose the players.
4. Editing style of BB2-BB4
5. No America's vote bull****.

Agreed, the format is working so I don't see the need to change it. I love how BBUS is edited, it's more exciting.

I agree but have nominations twists like Hgs nom, Hoh evicts or Public evicts one houseguest.
I kinda would like to have 16 hgs on the first ep and 5 make it to finale week tho.(11 evictions over 84 days or something, minus finale week where 5th and 4th are evicted by the house, 3rd by the jury, and then revote for the winner)

Not really a fan of that idea. Messing with the format is just asking for trouble.

just all new cast or all veteran. no mixes.
AND ABSOLUTELY NO HOUSEMATES FROM CASTING AGENCIES

lets see its the same eviction cycle for about 11 seasons bar two weeks.
I would like to see one week where the houseguests have to vote in front of each other. Might Make them show their hands.

I don't really get what you're saying here.

There's a reason they send them to the DR to vote in private...if everyone voted in front of each other there would just be a waterfall effect, i.e., after one HG gets a few votes everyone after that will vote the same way so as not to be in the minority or stick their neck out. Secret voting encourages split votes, which is more interesting. (Unless of course they were forced to write down their votes beforehand...but that makes the whole process unwieldy.)
Besides, why would you want to make them "show their hands"? I think it's more fun to watch HGs sneak around, double-deal and backstab instead of knowing exactly where everyone stands.

Disagree with most of your points Donovan - don't think basically turning BBUSA into BBUK would do it any favours.
I would sack Alison Grodner, have a new house layout and throw in some twists - I think one fundamental twist I'd like to see is the Veto. In the early years it evolved every series but has now been basically the same format for about seven series. I'd certainly return to everyone playing for the Veto.
I'd also return to a two person final - the three person affairs are a bit messy really.

Would writing their votes on a piece of paper and then revealing them work?
and it would only work one week.
Also I would like to see a veto wheel. Where on a wheel with 4 choices they have the silver veto, golden veto, diamond veto, and then a time bomb veto, basically a golden power veto they have to use or else face being nominated

It wouldn't really...I was just thinking out loud (or in post form). I agree, I don't think it's a good idea to have them vote in front of each other.
Brekkie, I agree with all of your points.

Do you know what have you guys ever seen Wheel of Fortune? in the middle of the time bomb wheel spot there's a very small wedge for a coup d'tat. And they spin the wheel after the veto's over.

Not a fan of your Veto wheel idea - I think having multiple versions of the Veto over complicates things.
There are two things I've been suggesting for years that they should do. The first is link the Veto with the jackpot - basically double it to $1m, but knock off $100,000 every time it's used. That means the Veto won't end up being used pretty much weekly (and end up more vital than HoH), forces the HoH to consider the views of the house in making their decision - and also adds even more gameplay. You can imagine some nominee opting to do a Marcelas and not use it on themselves in order to save $100k on the jackpot having been told they're absolutely safe - only to get the boot.
The second is after the final eviction when just two remain in the house to send the jury back in for the final few days to let them judge the finalists up close and personal and settle old scores face to face before making their decision. It would make the final few days on the live feeds possibly the most interesting of the entire season, rather than just two people being held prisoner waiting to find out their fate.

After watching BB UK pretty heavily the last few years (and watching their previous seasons as well), I find myself wishing our (USA) version was more like theirs. I'd love to see a different house (its been the same for what 8 years now?), public vote instead of the HM's controlling the eviction, and a live launch and eviction shows with more audience interaction like the UK version. I know probably none of these things have happened so my realistic wish is for all-new HM's that haven't been on the show before. No more vets or All-Star shows. How hard would it be to change the house though? It's been the same for so long. So boring. The different houses in the UK version makes it a completely different show.

after watching the BB uk for the first time this year, I think BB usa doesn't need to change and I cant wait until its coming again. BBuk is boring there is no punishment or HOH or veto. Its all about love stories!!!

Exactly usa version is more strategic. This uk season tried to be more strategic by letting them talk about noms, but they ruined it by removing it!

Fun Fact: BBUS had a live launch in 2000 with the cars and everything, before BBUK did it in 2002.
Fun Fact: that last fact wasn't as fun as informative.

So you want BBUS to be BBUK.
