Hear me out- I would love LF back 24/7. On boring days, you could put e4 on and watch the most hilarious and often un shown moments. But is it a neccesity really? I mean as much as I would love it back, its on a 15 min delay and the bird noise often cuts of or blanks conversation. I know bb is bases on having it, but is it needed ?

Absolutely, without it they can make up any old crap they want. They can mix up different bits of footage from different days to fit into their story line. It basically stops being a reality show.

BB was different but is starting to become tv for shallow orange numbnuts.

they could do it with of as well, lets be honest live feed is edited too. If they didn't want you to hear something they would just bird noise it.

I didn't think we needed it until the whole "Jay taking a poo in the freezer" thing was covered up and we only found out when the housemates mentioned it.
God knows what else they try to get away with not showing.

Yes.
Look I've argued this for the past 3 Years now, I'm tired of it. But yes it is vital and anyone that thinks otherwise clearly doesn't know what the show is about.

Live Feed is like a different show, you get to see the housemates, rather than how they are edited in the highlights show.

I spent all of Summer '08 watching the Big Brother 9 Housemates on the red button feed constantly. I got to know each and every one of them, knew the little back stories that were happening in the house, the things that may of been slightly referenced on highlight shows, I knew what was happening as it happened, I still remember moments and jokes that I may see the BB9 housemates tweeting about and know what they meant.
That's why it's my favourite series.
It felt like I was apart of it. Because the live feed was there constantly and you got to know each and every housemate in depth. From first thing in the morning when they would just be awake and making breakfast, or out in the garden having a fag - to the last thing at night when the boys would be having pizza and telling stories in the bedroom etc.
Ironically, that was the year they decided 'enough was enough' for Live Feed.

Yeah, BB ain't BB without LF ..... :nono:
Even if you couldn't watch it, others could and provide an ongoing summary in (almost) realtime - some kind posters even posted screencaps - I used to enjoy playing forum catch-up before settling down for overnight viewing ..... :idc:

That was my favourite year, LF as just brilliant that year & as you say Patrick you got to back stories, about the HM's, that most times wasn't shown on the HL show.

basically it is now a cut and paste extravaganza, making a small issue between HM's seem huge by revisiting the issue several times throughout a televised episode...To make it appear it was more than it was.
This will sway public opinion one way or another..... The bookies would benefit from this and I am now wondering if they don't have an influence on HM's popularity?....

From the other thread:
I'm sorry but it's not even a debate about whether it's 'worth it' or not, it's a fundamental, basic element of the format of Big Brother. If every country, even the poorest, has 24/7 live feed available for their Big Brother, there is absolutely no excuses why we can't have it here. It's just embarrassing and a total mockery of the premise of the show.
It doesn't differentiate itself from other similar reality TV shows anymore, it can so easily be compared to the likes of TOWIE, Made In Chelsea, I'm A Celebrity etc, when just a few years ago it was the daddy of all reality TV. Now, as some people say (including myself) - it's just another TV show.
There are no cons to having live feed, it's all advantages. There is no possible way you can properly get to know a bunch of housemates with 48 minutes of condensed footage a night. There's no way you can get as 'into' the show as you could before, as much as I still watched last year I could quite easily have missed a few and not been bothered. Like I said, it was just another TV show that I watch.
C5 have taken the format and shat all over it. You cannot justify not providing a 24/7 live feed service, even on a paid subscription when many are willing to fork out for it. It is essential, that is what Big Brother is and always has been - being able to watch them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Without that, it is not Big Brother. And they can create just about any storyline and narrative they wish, and none of us would have a ****ing clue.

I have personally never bothered with live feed, so it doesn't affect me. However, that said, it is a fundamental part of the show and most clearly want it. Hopefully CH5 get there act together.

Yes live feed is very important. Hate having to wait a day to see some new footage and even then I know it's a day old and I already know what's happened, so frustrating. With live feed you're really getting to know every housemate properly and really know for sure who you like and who you don't, it was like living with them only being invisible. Even if not much was happening, always the possiblity of something happening seconds later, even if it's just something funny that a housemate said or did.:love:
When those great moments happened unexpectedly too like big arguments, it was wonderful because they'd sometimes go on for hours and I'd already be looking foward to watching it again on tomorrow's highlights show and seeing how they were going to edit it into fifty plus minutes.:) For me the highlights was always just an added bonus and now it's all we have, what they feel like showing us or nothing.

I agree.
I mean, i've watched every series of BBUK without a live feed except for BB11 (and tbh it was quite boring and CONSTANTLY censored) and been perfectly fine - but I totally understand why it upsets people there is no live feed now. If there were no live feed for BBUS, I definitely would stop watching. It IS pretty ridiculous that BBUK is the only Big Brother in the entire world without a live feed. However, I do have a feeling it's due to ratings. I mean didn't they say they got rid of the live feed in BB10 because of BB9's ratings or something?
But still, I don't understand why they can't at least do a night-time feed like they did for BB10.

I rarely watched live feed anyway, didn't have the time but I take the point that in only edited highlights, we see what they want us to see and some housemates can be edited favourably and others not so, some hardly get seen at all without the live feed.
The majority,a good one too of BB fans, past and present, all prefer it with live feed and so I would come down on the side that it is important and it should be a part of BB again.
I do also believe, BB series on Channel 5 would be a great deal more successful with live feed definately.
