Brass Eye in my opinion is funny, but makes VERY serious points subtly.

The outcry that followed the programme on pedophiles, was bizzare & exactly what Chris Morris wanted.

People who believe it should not be shown OFFEND me, you have a TV remote.

I am totally against 99.9% of censorship!!!!!

sorry Bonzo, never watched it!

(don't slash your wrists, it's such a hassle to clean all the mess up!)

Thanks for the concern!!

Janette you have to watch it, I think from what I've seen you post that you would enjoy.

Its powerful tv, particularly the one on pedophila funny, mainly because it ridicules the 'publics hysteria' about pedophila.
Lets all lock up our children up because a nasty man might abuse them, forgetting that most sexual abuse is done at home by someone the child knows! and then not give children the freedom, and right to develop that they deserve. Of course a lot of this is Tabloid induced.

Chris Morris you are a genius.

See Bonzo - what did I tell you about Radiohead?

Brass Eye - depends what mood I'm in and what topic they're 'promoting'. We knew, didn't we, that people would get the wrong end of the stick about the paedophile programme. I think sometimes though, Chris Morris is a bit too clever for his own good and the serious message is lost. Admire his nerve though.

When's it on?

What channel?

What day?

What time?

Chris who?

If You have a brain the serious message comes across, but of course the press are more intrested in sensationalizing things.

The fact that they reacted the way they did proved everything he was saying. I know what you mean though about him being to clever for his own good.

A lot of people I know said how terrible it was, and yet they hadn't watched it.

It has finished I don't know when or if there will another series. But maybe repeated. It was on channel 4. You can get the series on DVD though. It is worth investing believe me.

Chris Morris has done a few things, one was called erm can't rember the title but the word NEWS was in there. But has always been known for creating controversy.

I did hear all the uproar about the paedophilia programme, and having my own child makes me wonder why they would do a "spoof" programme about it, but I don't know the details of what was in the show, just the irate comments.

Would anyone fill me in on what exactly happened?

Janette to explain it fully, I will have to watch it again, so when I do (sometime this week) I will let you know, but as long as you keep an open mind it is very intresting!!!

Unforunately with the british publc (76% of which are brain dead) iit was wasted on them, mention the word pedophile and they all hyperventilate. But it was making a really important point!!

How can ANYONE trivialise the subject matter by hidding by the "serious treatment" of something we all accept as unacceptable!

NO!

Not even funny, not even a signature..............

Splodge - I was going to write quite a full response to your post but really, at the end of the day, you either got the point the programme was trying to make or you didn't.

Oh dear I have to agree that the thread is wasted on you, I am just going to ignore posts that state an opinion with out backing it up.

You are just doing it for a reaction, Oh shallow one.

Urmmmmm....

At TiBB we really like it when we can debate over current affair topics, we like people to opinionate their views.

What we don't like is when other people have a go at others for expressing this opinion. I'm not accusing anyone of this, just that I can see it happening soon...

I don't want to have to start closing threads again, but if we could all take into account not everyone has the same views as you do, and if we can all respect peoples views we can all get along :wavey:

By all means post what you believe in, just don't have a go at someone because what they think :spin2:

Sorry if it looks like I'm having a moan - Im not, just making sure everyone is happy! - you can continue this thread now!

Thanks!

- Mark

Of course it's funny. The drug episode was also especially good: "Don't let our children eat C.A.K.E."

In my experience those who don't find it funny are either braindead or Daily Mail readers.

Well said Charlie

Hello by the way!!

Come to think of it, I don't think we really need to seperate those who are braindead and those who read the Daily Mail. Those who read the Mail are just a sub-category of braindead...

just finished watching the whole series on 4OD... this is genius  the crime and drugs episodes were my favourites. Staggering how gullible the celebrity speakers were.
