Now though? When the best series we've had in years has been BB13 - looking back on Big Brother's last 4 years on Channel Four, you can see which series stands out as the best.

8, 10 and 11 don't come close to 9.

8 was brilliant actually had some of my favourite ever housemates and is often overlooked because it was won by an utter twat - just like people overlook BB9 (but Rachel was semi-ok).

IMO - the reason BB8 is considered so boring [and I'll actually admit, compared to the latter series it wasn't that bad], is because it suffered following up from the Golden Years.

People expected BB7 2.0 and got a tamed down, camp fest all because Jade Goody ruined CBB5 and ultimately ruined Big Brother forever. I still maintain Big Brother would still be on Channel 4 growing strong, had she not of ran her big mouth back in '07.

But yeah, BB8 remains criticized because after BB5, BB6, BB7 - it just seemed.. flat.

It definitely is the most unlikeable cast by a mile.

I think that helped the whole "storyline" feel even more enjoyable though. Which a few notable exceptions, most of the evictions felt so satisfying and of course one of the few wholly decent people winning capped it off perfectly.

If the evictions / winner had gone in a different direction I'd probably have a very different opinion on the series, as entertaining as it was throughout.

This thread reignited my love to BB9 :love: Rachel is one of the best personalities to grace the BB house. A respectful, kind, loving, caring, happy, positive, friendly person, a good example - I'm so glad she has managed to win it, for me this is what an ideal BB winner should be and what it meant to be. She was a simple kindhearted girl, she had a great sense of humour about being boring and a fence sitter ("This is Big Brother, Could Rachel get off the fence" summed it up pretty well :laugh::worship:) and she didn't feel the need to pretend to take part in nasty things that were far from what she stands for.
