ik with BB being back on there's more traffic that slows down the site

But is there anything that can actually be done about it?

Can some of the big old threads be deleted so that it speeds it up or something?

idk whatelse to suggest but you get my point \o/

Could do with deleting some of the old big threads maybe (like on a temp basis the gaga, britney and any really long ones, same with chat threads and bring them back after BB, this will mean post counts will go all wonky though so people might complain) I'll make an Admin thread about it

Maybe make less threads sticky? Seriously, about half the threads in every single section are made sticky and it's annoying.

One possibility would be to make a separate archive forum where threads that havent been posted in for 12months are removed and archived elswhere i dont get the insistence on keeping everything so long the size of the database is the main cause for it being so slow.

would it mean having to buy another licence for the vbulletin software or could they be archived onto a free forum and domain such as proboard?

I've noticed you have to be signed in to view threads, that's probably helping.

Isn't that basically hindering the chance of more new members, though? :/

Works both ways I guess, might get much more sign ups because people want to have alook

The forum was so slow this morning! Was it ok for anyone else? Might just be my internet connection! :bawling:

I'm finding it really slow tonight, I've tried postig in 3 different threads then gave up, it's took my half hour to post this section.

I'm finding the forum really slow for days now, that's why I've harley been on lately, it's driving me insane, at first I thought it was my Internet but all the other websites/forums I go on are working fine.

Sometimes it goes ridiculously slow. I was waiting for about 5 minutes before for the page to change and I gave up. :bored:

Yeah it has been really bad, try turning off sigs/avatars/images in your cp during the busiest times it sometimes helps a bit.
