... Is using this whole sex change thing to win over his hm, and make them not nominate him? I mean he has told most of the house in 3 days, when he said he would hold it back. And the way he says it seems formulated and almost "feel sorry for me!"....
Harsh or not!:spin:

I don't think it's to harsh, because of course he could use that to his advantage. However people shouldn't feel sorry for him because that actually makes out that he is different enough to warrant sympathy. When in actual fact he's just a normal human being, who has changed his gender. It happens to often nowadays it's not particularly strange.

I think it's too early to judge whether he is using it to his advantage though, he could just want it out in the open early so as to not have to worry about it later in the months to come. And if he does.. Then we'll all just kick him out!

dont worry they all seem nice on the surface but they all want to win so only a matter of time before it gets bitchy.

I don't particularly like the 'disadvantaged' label and how people who have it are people's favourite to win.. Purely because of that.

E.g Nadia, Mikey, Verne

I don't know about winning the housemates over, but I could see him using it to win votes if he's up for eviction in the future.

I guess if he still has visible scars,he cannot get into certain activities wiithout having to explain them.
I can see why he would be concerned at the need to explain things with so many people he doesn't know anything about yet.

I am actually pleased he has started to do it now and get it out the way so that it is not an issue going on for ages intothe series.
From what I have seen so far, he is making the right decisions as to how he tells them, he is doing it before any nominations proper take place and when he isn't up for eviction too.
Also, he may find he will get a far better response to it from his housemates than from people outside the house.
I hope he gets them told and leaves it all at that and then gets on with being a housemate like the rest of them, which I think is his intention really.

I don't think so. He seems really nice, but he's worried about exposing his body. I think it's quite a sensitive subject for him. :(

Did Nadia tell the housemates she was transgender or not?

I don't think so. Jason still thought she was a woman when they were the last two! :joker:

he does seem nice, but tbf lots of people have body issues, he isn't the only one just because of his special circumstances and if he is so bothered about being a man why is he going to tell them all he isn't one?

I think he's very self conscious about his body. He has big visible scars. :)

Meh I think people are looking into it a bit much, Sara already knows and it's better to tell the rest sooner rather than later. It's probably quite awkward to have to tell people but there's no real reason why he should feel obliged to keep it secret, I'd say people are more tolerant now of transsexuals than they were during BB5 and Nadia

If Luke becomes a complete d*ck and starts being a nuisance, I'm pretty sure they'd nominate him regardless! But until those things start to happen, I see no reason why they'd nominate him at present- when the next nominations come around, I'd say Ashleigh will almost certainly be up.

Why would telling them about his sex change make them not nominate him? if anything it would make them more likely to nominate him because of all the prejudice against transexuals.

Hope he can relax now its in the open .

hhmmm, I don't think it's his fault if it gives him some sort of advantage, he's only telling them the truth. It's not like he decided to get a sex change on the off chance he ever gets onto BB and it might work in his favour

it seems to me he wouldn't be on BB if he wasn't a transsexual, so it's a bit of a contradiction. He doesn't want to be treated as something less than a ordinary person, but in stark contrast is willing to use it to get on BB. Something that an ordinary person cannot do

Anyone who thinks it's an advantage to be transgendered should try educating themselves and see what transgender people actually face in the real world. The idea that it is in ANY WAY an advantage is very ignorant. It is a disadvantage in every way.

However if you take fruitcakes analogy as an instance she is right...If he was male luke A he would never had made the show.
It was not an ignorant statement it was a fact, and not a slight on the transgender community.

Yeah, I agree with Kizzy, it was an advantage to get him on the show, that doesn't mean it's an advantage in everyday life

If he's getting it out in the open to start with I don't think anyone could accuse him of 'using it to his advantage', surely you'd only say that if he kept it a secret? I just think he's self-conscious, wants to get in the pool and so wants to get it out of the way. I personally find it real interesting, so the more we hear him discussing it the better IMO.

Meh I think people are looking into it a bit much, Sara already knows and it's better to tell the rest sooner rather than later. Hm, I'm not too sure about that just yet. I have already seen and am expecting some transphobic comments not only on this forum, but on DS, Twitter etc. I have always said ever since Nadia reappeared in UBB that transphobia is the last remaining form of discrimination that is still deemed 'acceptable'. I've already seen quite a few vile things written about him.

Anyone who thinks it's an advantage to be transgendered should try educating themselves and see what transgender people actually face in the real world. The idea that it is in ANY WAY an advantage is very ignorant. It is a disadvantage in every way.

For the first time ever I may actually agree with you.

I think he's just getting it out the way early, so that he doesn't feel uncomfortable in the house around people.

I do think though in a couple of weeks, the story will die down and he may come across as dull, we don't know.
