View Full Version : Ashleigh Ashleigh - Worst first impressions ever?

In the history of big brother, I don't think i've disliked a housemate so much after just 2 shows.

For me, this girl represents everything that is wrong with our society. I usually like the 'controversial' characters and hope they stay in, but in her case I hope the public bin her as soon as she's up. She makes my skin crawl every time she opens her mouth. The 'essex' act is absolutely tragic.

Ashleigh's loud but she doesn't bother me yet - and she's probably doomed as she's a woman with a personality.

Talking about golden showers the way she did is obviously a no-no when trying to win over other people. However, it's the constant screaming, swearing and "dumb essex girl" routine that is really getting on my tits.

It shouldn't be.

But even if you are shocked, to react the way that some people here have reacted is unacceptable.

BB puts cameras in the bedroom, the bathroom, all over the place. It deliberately creates a voyeuristic environment. If people are too narrow minded to behave with equanimity when what they see is not what they like, if they think that somehow the housemates should be chosen to only do and talk about things which fit their preconceived notions of what is right and what is wrong then I suggest that they should not watch it.

I, for one, would love Ashleigh to pee on me, but I accept that that sort of thing is not for everyone (but it's probably more popular than people think).

If she'd said she likes to tie men up and stick needles in their ***** then that would not be for me, but I wouldn't dream of attacking her for it, nor anybody who said "ooh yes please".

The prudish intolerance displayed by people here who have chosen to watch a show aimed at voyeurs (in the wide sense, not the sexual fetish meaning) is staggering.

And as for chuff me dizzy saying that he'd consider physical violence an acceptable reaction to being asked to partake in a sex act he didn't fancy, well, words fail me.

A twenty year old airhead from Essex says she like boys to piss on her on her first night in the BB House, some people on the forum say that's kind of unacceptable... and you call that prudish intolerence? This is a Big Brother forum in case it's escaped your notice. We're all here to discuss the housemates and air our views. What's staggering is that, eloquent as you are, you've failed to grasp that.

I got the distinct impression, not changed by re-reading, that people were complaining that she said it at all, not just that she said it on the first night.

Maybe some of those who complained could say how many days into the show she could have said it and they wouldn't have criticised her for it.

And of course this forum is for people to air their views. The view I'm airing is that those who choose to watch people doing, or talking about, what goes on between consenting adults in private should accept that sometimes they'll see or hear about things that they wouldn't want to do themselves.

Ic, well that's fair enuf. I'm the same way.

I once dated a guy who was obsessed with arm pits, and i was like, look you can lick my arm pits all you want, but just don't ask me to return the favor, cause i have no interest.

But i agree, everyone has their own limitations and own fetishes and own interests. Everyone's sexuality is unique. It's dumb to just define sexuality by gay or str8 or bi, there are millions of sexualities. Some people like feet, arm pits, piss, bondage, candle wax, anything you can think of someone is into it.

I'm just surprised people are still shocked by this stuff.

Yeah, people are into all sorts of things. Whatever gets you through the night, I say. With Ashleigh though, I think she was just saying that stuff because she knew it would be a bit off the wall, like Rebeckah last year, just saying stuff because she knew it'd make the highlights. Well - I know that Livia won't see this, but I do want to stand my ground. If you look at what people were saying, particularly the exchanges between Niamh and lostalex, and Black Dagger twice calling her a tramp, none of it was because she'd said what she said on the first night, it was because of what she said full stop.

Yes, I know that the forum is for people to discuss housemates, but ultimately they are real people, even if their BB personas are partially false, and the forum members are real people too.

And as real people passing judgements on real people, IMO calling them tramps, cheap, seedy, does deserve to be challenged. I thought that as a society we no longer regarded it as acceptable to call a woman a tramp because of her sexual activities.

Finally, apologies to cmd for getting her gender wrong, but it's not relevant to my position. I don't regard physical violence in a relationship as a laughing matter, and I'm even more surprised that a woman would.

Anyway - I didn't come here as a troll, I simply didn't realise that the forum ethos is that people can say what they like about housemates but not have what they say criticised.

Kizzy
08-06-2012, 04:58 PM
critique away for me mike... I defend her right to say what she likes too.
The subject of her convo that night is not my thang, however I feel that the level of animosity toward this young woman for this social faux pas has been blown out of proportion.
It seems a double standard to me that to discuss a sex act is frowned upon and yet to openly discuss your career in the sex industry is not?
